what are some good additives for DWC besides regular nutrients?

i just picked up a bottle of silica! lets see how this stuff works!

SI thickens and strengthens all the cell walls so the whole plant will be thicker and studier right off the bat and the more density at harvest.

Thicker cell walls allow for more tolerance to heat & cold, over & under watering, and better pest tolerance.

It is not snake oil

Kelp is good also. It has hormones vitamins and chelated micro's. The B1 in kelp encourages rapid cell division which equals a faster growing plant.

Once you get those dialed in then time to add the humic acid, and root stimulators/mycos

Bloom boosters and sweeteners/flavor adders are the snake oils.

I currently have a DWC grow going and I had some slime issues but didn't have time to get the materials and make the "tea" that some suggest. I did some research and decided to try Voodoo Juice, Tarantula, piranha and sensizym (all from advanced nutrients) They are very expensive, but I was able to find a guy that sold them in smaller increments on Ebay for much much less than full price (just search advanced nutrients on ebay, you can build your own bundle). My slime and root rot issues cleared up almost immediately (overnight it was gone) and the roots really took off. I had to buy some more voodoo juice because it needed 1 oz per gallon, but the tarantula and piranha should last me through this grow. If you decide to try it, make sure you get the new formula as it takes less product which saves money. I was amazed what this stuff did.... my roots went from a pretty pathetic amount of shoots to what is shown below.

Now, about 2 weeks later, the roots are 3 times as dense as this picture and are healthy white with no slime. They are starting to fill the bottom of my bucket! I also noticed that there was slime building up on my air stones and air lines... that is gone now as well. Just a matter of preference but it has worked wonders for me. If you want to see the crazy results of this voodoo juice stuff... check out this dudes video... mine is on its way to being this kind of root system.

i bought some fulvic acid and some soluble silicate....

the fulvic acid gives me crazy ph swings at first, probs while it stabilizes, the sillicate is super alkaline! it raised my ph from 5.5 to like 7.5 right away lol i had to add a fair amount of ph down to bring it back down to 5.8

NPK aside i use silica (i keep switching brands, most recently i am using Pro-Tekt), Floralicious Plus and hydrogen peroxide.

I've got literally 50 other additives I've bought or for fro free over the years that i don't use anymore because they're crap...

has anyone ever used BudFactor-X by Advanced Nutrients? is expensive as shit but i guess it should do something for that price
Seriously? Advanced Nutrients is the King Kong marketing, trying to sucker in inexperienced growers growers with outrageous claims of how great their products are and how much they'll increase your yield. I'm not going to say AN makes bad nutes, but i will say that none of them are as great as they claim, the majority of their additives will increase your yield less then they'll shrink your wallet. There are no magic products out there, its just a billion dollar industry funded by dreamers...

i got some 34% H2O2 but ive been afraid of using it.... what rate do you use it at?

i got a little sample bottle of floraliscious plus too but ive also been afraid to use it because i didnt want it staining my roots.. i have used it as a folia spray though.

i have used silica on two of my plants and it raisies the PH almos to 8.5! then i have to add a good amount of ph down to stabilize it. i havent noticed any big differences tho

The H2O2 i use is 29% and i use 3ml per gallon in ever bit of water that goes into my garden start to finish. Since yours is only 5% stronger you should be able to use it at the same rate or maybe a little less if you're scared.

I use Floralicious Plus at a pretty low rate, i grow in 5 gallon buckets and each bucket gets 1 ml of Floralicious Plus once a week for the entire grow. Why the hell are you scared of it staining your roots??? LOL

All silica seems to be a very strong ph up. Just keep your eye on it and you should be fine.

Don't add H2O2 to your reservoir, unless you're trying to fix a problem. Use the regular Technaflora nutrients with silica and Pondzyme with Barley, it will be great for your roots. Adding H2O2 with Pondzyme would cancel out the effects of the beneficial bacteria.

I use all canna products, u start at 5.2 Ph and it Ph itself. It raise up to 6.7 for the first day but after that it stays around 5.7. No need to check the ph if u trust it which I do. I check it every day for 2 Weeks but the Ph didn't do to much but go from 5.2 to 5.8 and back.
