Those are female pre-flowers at the inner nodes along the main stem. This is the location you should watch in early flowering stage for signs of sex (after flipping lights or even before flipping if you veg long enough, or after a few weeks if growing autos). Males form small clusters of balls at this location, females form a calyx or two per node with a white pistil as the confirmation that it's a girl.
Your plant is obviously a female, since you already have buds forming, so you should now watch for signs of hermaphrodidic growth in the form of "banannas" on your flowers (small lime green/yellow male flowers that sort of look like a banana or a pointed tongue with a line down the center). If you start to see those, your plant will pollinate itself and any other nearby plants very quickly, effectively ruining your grow. Best to cull hermies ASAP... Good luck with the grow!
