What are you guys using for big plastic pots (15+ gallons)

Im doing 4 plants in my 5x5 tent; looking to put them in nice big pots of organic soil. Seems like the biggest pots anyone sells are 10 gallon. The best option i have come up with so far is getting a couple 30 gallon food grade plastic barrels and cutting them in half to make 4 pots. What do you guys think about that idea?

The inspiration for this idea comes from the fact that my girls started getting deficient in 5 gallon pots at the start of flower and each one is only taking up a little less than 1/6 of the tent. So next round when i veg them enough for each one to fill 1/4 of the tent, even a 10 gallon isn't going to get the job done.

The alternative option is 20 gallon fabric pots which would work, the only issue i have with those is that they add a lot of humidity and dehumidifiers cost a good bit to run.

Looking for any input from indoor growers who use really big pots.

It'll work dandy. I have two 55 gallon plastic drums I cut in half and put potatoes into them. Drilled holes at the bottom, and they work great.

A little trick I did though... with a drill and a 1-1/4" spade bit, and drilled two holes through the top of it so I can stick a hoe or rigid broom handle through it, and pick it up easily (requires two people when the soil is wet).

Just went out and took a pic to show you what I mean (if you look closely, you can see the second hole on the far side):

To cut the drums, I just put the drum on its side, and rolled it while I held a skil saw on the cutting line.

You can get the 15 gallon plastic pots online but they want more for shipping than the cost of the pot.

American Agriculture down the street from me has the 15 gallon nursery pots for $9 but that doesn't do you any good. Do you have any nurseries in your area? Some of them put old pots out for people to take. I've gotten a bunch of pots from a couple different nurseries over the years.

Or just use cheap 18 gallon rubbermaid totes you can get at the store for $9 a piece.

Kiddypools cheap and great too, many moms leave them out overnight

to be relieved by the odd passing Russian Grower!

air inflated can be filled with aero-insulation at a cost check first

best is 12-18 inch walls if you can get them

good luck

I use 15 gallon and 25gallon pots from garden section of walmart. All I had to do was drill some holes. Green one was like 5 bucks and the blue one was around 12 bucks one

The only thing i dont like about these plastic pots is they are all so tall. My 20 gallon fabric are 12'' tall and 21'' wide at the bottom. The plastics all seem to be about 17'' tall and 16 wide at bottom. Growing these monsters in a tent height does start to become a worry.
