^^
I have a pretty hardcore bloom closet going on. I thought it was going to be a small SOG but these plants are growing so fast in my DWCs they are already about 2 feet tall after 2 weeks so its gonna get crazy in there. (about 1-1.5 inches growth per day)

Im growing Super Lemon Haze (which i hear is a pretty stinky strain) Is this thing overkill?

is this just what I need?

If I expand my operation, will this carbon filter be able to handle a small room (12x15x8 ft)?

Is this fan that comes with this carbon filter really noisy?

Is this a reputable brand?

Is this a bad or good deal? I dont know enough about carbon scrubbers to deal with DIYs

please advise

growbright filters kind of suck. the ones ive gotten have had loose carbon in them. pay a little more and get a can filter you wont regret it.

also i have an adjuster for my fan to reduce the speed. you will really want to invest in one of these.

how loud is the fan? Ive heard 2nd hand that the growbright fans are pretty loud... if it is loud were you able to make it quieter? If so how? Also why is an adjuster so important?

please advise

If I need an adjuster to make it quieter then shouldnt i just get a more expensive quieter fan in the 1st place?

how much is an adjuster and where can I buy them?

This carbon filter is reusuable just wash it out :)

I would use this with this fan

http://www.sunleaves.com/detail.asp?sku=SW604

Fan has a plastic casing that lowers noise and it is reasonably priced.
DECISION TIME:

OK i been researching this shit for a few days now. Ive read nothing but great things about the SunLeaves fans. Google got me some good prices on this item. 169.99 + 9.99 shipping puts me at about 180 shipped to me door.

Concerning the filters ive read nothing but great things about these Deau Passe Fresh Maker filters linked as well (reusable... fuck yes). I found them for 99 buck here + agout 10 bucks shipping:
http://www.growwurks.com/organic-air-charcoal-fiber-filter-4-6-8-10-and-12-inch.aspx

so thats the complete setup delivered for about $290

As opposed to the setup I was considering for 195 however HGT wanted to charge me $55 for shipping (lol) which puts me at around $251.

On top of that Ive read that the growbright fans are horribly loud and Ill spend 30 bucks for a speedster to slow it down and then I still might have to make a sound-box and/or buy a muffler to dampen noise even more which would make that setup more expensive than the better smaller setup in the 1st place...

So for 40 bucks more I get a VERY quiet setup (sunleaves windtunnel fan) and a filter that I can reuse over and over. And its only 40 bucks more assuming that I dont have to buy any sound dampening equipment for the growbright which I probably would anyways.

CanniMed thank you for the advice brotha... lovemug you too man appreciate the input

the adjusters are on ebay for around 15$ give or take a few dollars. whatever carbon filter you get make sure to shake it and if there is anything loose in it youll need to send it back.

fuck scratch that... now im reading lots of mixed reviews about the Deau Pass Freshmaker triple layer charcoal scrubbers... BUT its weird.. lots of the reviews im reading seem to be mixing up the charcoal scrubber with the air filters... ie: the guy will start talking about the freshmaker odor scrubber and then a few posts down people are talking about the Deau Passe Hepa Filters assuming its the same product (the way I understand it at least a many of these other forums use conflicting terminology).

Im sure about the fan that I want.. not so sure about the carbon scrubber though...

can filters are really nice and i really couldnt find anything negative about them before i bought mine. and mine has been running wonderfuly ive got 8 plants going into flowering and no smell. most all inline fans are going to make a bit of noise. they move alot of air. htg does charge alot for shipping but i reflects in the price. and they upgrade it to 3 days shipping and anything that is fucked up they will send you an RMA and pay for shipping back to them and a replacement to you.
some fans will be quiter but make sure to compare the amount of air you can move with them. 424cfm is a really powerfull fan. you knock that down to half with an adjuster and its pretty quite. if you get a cheaper fan that only moves 212cfm your going to have to have the thing going full blast all the time.

I have been using the 4 and 6 inch grow bright fans for over a year now. I honestly think they are one of tbe quietest inline fans I have ever heard in person. I dont know why they get a bad rap. I use the grow bright filters also, and laugh everytime I read someone bashing them. I think many of those people have never even used a grow bright fan or filter, or dont know how to use them properly. I love having super stinky strains growing, and not smelling it in my house, except in the grow room.
