What can you guys tell me about these? (first time)

I dont really know what to do with these.
They have been growing for about 2 1/2 weeks now since i put the seed in soil.
It's just regular hardware soil, nothing spectacular. The light is just a regular 15watt flourescent.
I have a fan circulating the room. and was on 24/7 lighting for the whole 2 1/2 weeks.
I put it to 20/4 last night. and am planning to do 18/6 tonight. Should I?

I have a 1000watt bulb comming to me in a few days.
I figure that might be too much, but its free. so I hope I can use it.
How&when can I tell if they are males or females?

No idea on where to go from here. I don't want to spend a pile of $ doing this, I think the most I spent so far
is about 25-30$ Dont want to go higher than $100 If even possible. Let me know what I should do, Be my teacher.
I am doing this for the experience mostly. don't mind if its not a great turn out.

Yes it is but do you want to grow the plant or do you want us too?

you need to keep the light like 2 inches about the plants they are stretching horribly

If you are planning on using a 1k light then it will cost more than $100 just for the correct fans to keep that sucker cool.

Realistically if you want to grow it for under $100 you need to look at CFL's. I would say around 250w of cfl should see you ok for maybe 2 plants. Less heat to deal with, less electricity being used and a larger margin for errors.

Start looking at some of the stickies at the top of newbie central.

They will help you alot.

dont get me wrong it is i was just saying read up on the basics that way you wont have so many questions
I might have come off like I was asking quite a bit. But when I search the internet, it seems that alot of people have so many different opinions.
it's hard to find out what exactly my plant is up to.

Yours are lookin pretty good right now asside from stretchy. Just get all you cogs lined up for when they start to get big and you're freakin out cuz it's 3 feet tall and you never figured it would get that big and wtf?! Just be well read. I did it and depending on how much time you can invest on research you can have a pretty solid grip in a weekends worth of study.

Totally. Would you suggest I start over? Or transfer to a bigger pot and bury the stem so its no so fragile/wobby

People are not trying to be rude to ya bro, I've asked plenty of questions on here over the years and everyone has been extremely helpful. The problem is, the first major rule in growing is you need to conduct A LOT of research and get everything in order before you even start germinating your first seed. Just based upon the level of knowledge in your questions, it seems as though you haven't read anything or conducted any research.

If you want to get any type of decent yield and be as safe as possible you need to spend at least 300-600$. Are you legal? If not you might as well go HiD because 2 plants are 2 plants no matter how well they are doing.

1000w bulbs are not flouresent bulbs.. they are HiD bulbs (high intensity discharge). They require a ballast and reflector, as well as high powered fans to cool them because they get extremely hot. Check the Newbie forum section and read every single stickied topic before you even CONSIDER starting.

With that being said since you started, I would replant those stretchy stems and get the light closer to the plants. Read read read, checkout grow journals, read more, and THEN start asking questions. Goodluck.

a good way to find an answer to any question you're looking for is to just ask it to google. most of the time it will direct you to this site to a 2 year old thread where some guy asked the same question and has already gotten tons of responses.

saves you from sitting around waiting for good advice.
