Uhhh, NO, I never have pH'd my water to 4.0 when my soil pH was 7.0. You're not going to have a dramatic effect on the soil's pH by just watering with low pH'd water. Soil pH needs to be adjusted by amending it with gypsum (to bring pH down) or dolomite lime (to bring pH up). Over time the buildup of salts will cause the pH of the medium to drop a bit but it shouldn't be horrible if you are pH'ing your water and nute solutions properly and not overfertilizing. I've unknowingly given very low pH nute solutions to plants in the past with pretty undesirable results I might add.

lol! I know exactly what I did wrong! I fed with nute solution with pH that was too low. Now I check pH every time I water/feed. Since I test every time I never have pH issues these days so there is no need for me to blast my plants with straight acid! lmfao!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so let me ask a dumb question and get your opinions on it.... Say you've added lime to ur mix and you know that your ph is good a stable and the right range (in your soil), with the lime added if you don't ph your water is that gonna raise or lower the ph of your soil?

It's not that simple of a question. In general, the proper way to raise or lower your SOIL's pH is to amend it, before planting, with dolomite or hydrated lime or gypsum, etc., depending on where you want your soil's pH. I don't want to get into a long chemistry lesson but soil is a good buffer, meaning it resists pH changes. So, if I add water with a pH of, let's say 4.0, it is not going to dramtically lower the soil's pH. The soil and it's components will buffer the acidic water going in and it will take on the pH of the soil. Doing this over time will eventually start to cause the soil's pH to drop. Exactly how much is going to depend on the buffering components of the soil (ie. dolomite lime) and the chemical makeup of the solution going in. The problem with adding things with a pH that is way off from that of the medium is that there are byproducts of acid-base reactions. These are solvated salts and water. Now water is no big deal because it's something the plant needs anyway. The solvated salt could be a problem because they could be toxic to the plants. Over time these can build up in the soil causing lockouts and other toxicity issues. You might get away with it for a while but it's always a good idea to make sure your soil's pH is in the proper range as well as your water/nute solutions. It helps eliminate a potential problem down the road and we all would like to avoid potential problems, right?

Worm castings are a growers best friend. Both in the mix and added during grow through compost teas and such. Worm castings have the wonderful ability to either raise or lower a mediums ph depending on the need. They will keep your mediums ph near perfect for you...if its not getting totally abused with chemicals. There are limits to everything.....

Fakes? lol! Please elaborate. I've been at this for a while. I explained in a previous post why this is a bad idea to do what you are advising and even explained that it is possible to get away with it for a while. Are you going to address any of that post or are you just going to flame me and then turn tail and run? How are you testing your soil's pH? Simply pouring water/nute solution with a really low pH into your pots a couple of times isn't going to lower the pH of the soil dramatically. It can create a toxic salt buildup if the soil's composition and water/nute solution composition are right. You may have simply gotten lucky you didn't screw anything up really badly. I said I had put low pH solutions in my pots before, so I do speak from experience................negative experience! Am I still a fake or do I pass your definition of real now? lmfao!!!!!!!

You use ph down to lower your soils ph???? I tried using ph up to up mine and it didn't work worth a shit, and actually I think it might have fried a couple of them.
