What did they think would happen?

So about 650 million people are without power in India. What were the major corporations thinking when they moved over there? That they were immune from the travails of doing business in a third world country? I can't wait to start hearing how much money they lost because of this fiasco.

On the human side, how many people died because of this?

When we had the east coast blackout I don't remember looting. Then again, I was on vacation in an area that didn't lose power. When I came home Detroit still looked the same, albeit it did look dirtier than when I left. jk

Actually, it was good to see the Dept of AG doing what it is paid to do. They were allover the food distribution network making sure unrefrigerated foods were destroyed. They did an excellent job, too.

I have a friend that used to go to India for work - GM. He said he could smell it from the airplane while it was up in the air. Hated it.

Well, India has restored power or at least that's what they say. It seems the major corp, apartments, etc. have their own generators. It seems that the grid is soooo bad that you have to be able to make your own power.

India's system is powered by coal. Not the USA's clean coal, but China's coal that is inferior and dirtier. Now if someone wanted to talk about cleaner air and global warming, I think I'd start there.

The US isn't exactly known for its willingness to sign international treaties on environmental issues, either.

not trying to be debbie downer... tho I wished I knew what she smoked...

but... lets really answer this Question... ok..?

Why on EARTH... is the rest of our planets also heating up and suffering major damage be it astroidal or climate ?
Last I checked..no cars cept here... major crap happens on other planets.. is my gist of the topic. I aint saying we are not at blame...
but..... if shit is happening elsewhere where no man has been and their climate is jacked up to...

what are we in store for?

Sumerians have had "end times" ideas that correlate with shit happening now.. as does other religious text (besides the Bible)
