What did you accomplish today?

Left the house today, crossed over a bridge which spans a gorge , hiked through
the woods until I reached my " Tao Shack " ! Got some of the basics in ( bed, chair,
another little desk, a piss- pot ( very imporant in the middle of the night), food and drinks and something-something ! I also rounded up all the hot glass shit , gotta get it tuned up and ready to fire . I love it here , isolated, quiet, so simple . Needs some work done on it and a fresh coat of paint . I can really hear the coyotes and
critters over hear and the creek running puts me to sleep. Lots more to do ! Even got the woodstove prepped for a very chilly morning. I'll stay here all summer !
The pic is a candle in a glass housing, my porch light.20230604_001522.jpg20230604_001522.jpg

Transplanted some clones into coco coir for the very first time....fingers crossed!

Got a little test going on, of pot types and sizes.

3 clones the same age/size and strain. 1 each in a 3 gallon fiber, 5 gallon fiber, and 2 gallon plastic pots, to be hand watered this run.

Feeding GH Flora. Using Canna coco with chunky perlite.

Bagged Black canyon Gunnison NP .
The drive was incredible up into Telluride. Telluride was not my scene at all.
but the mountains south are gorgeous. The color of the trees are a fluorescent green. Nothing compares. So many stops in the park . This one , at the painted rocks was excellent.

I think you've become a genuine Nomad ! You are a very smart woman , taking the time NOW , to experience all of these wonderful adventures ! So many people put it off and by the time they get around to do it , they have " shit the bed " . I hope you are having the time of your life ! That will " carry you " for the rest of your life ! It's
amazing the impact of seeing nature's " art work " , like those monoliths in your latest pics. Those sights literally take my breath away and make me very emotional ! It's mind blowing ! Happy trails !

Not bad I guess for the first passes testing this new cheap ass setup i picked up yesterday. 1/8 7018. Wish I would have picked up some 3/32 7018 and my fav 6013 but oh wel it will have to work. Just welding some 1/4” plate to a trailer.
I couldn’t really see well that first lap weld. My new cheap hood needed more juiceSecond one turned it down a little, waited for the hood to power up. Think i’m gonna go for it.

Doesn't look bad at all. Lay a couple more, it all comes back.......muscle memory.

I haven't stick welded in probably 5 years. And at that, I just showed someone what was needed. I haven't welded in a few weeks last project was bronze, all tig. I don't like bronze.

What're you building?

Still building the first tiny home. Finishing up. Need to weld some 1/4” to the trailer for the mini split compressor.
It WILL take 2 months to build each one but the weather fucked me up and other shit did too but kept track of hrs.

The hardest shit we weld (with stick because mig is just too easy) has always been 16ga Zbar to structural steel overhead. Talk about a lap joint! You get pretty good if you are one of the unfortunate ones, bought your union card straight outta prison, or as an apprentice like I did, prob the hardest weld we gotta do. I was certified 18ga all welds/positions with stick and also up to 3/4 plate

I dont know if you remember but i lost my old school buzz box and my mig w/spool gun in the fire. I really wanted to buy a combo machine but said fuck it. I’m a god damn stick welder. So bought this piece of shit from harbor freight. And that 1/8” 7018. Kinda shitty rod. They were all out of 3/32 7018
We usually rock 3/32 6013. Usually
