When I was about 15, a guy in town (Joseph, Oregon circa 1973) shot a guy who was stealing his chickens with rock salt at close range and killed him dead- blew a hole right through his guts
That was the first time for me, I was carrying a big watermelon and didn’t drop it until the salt hit me. The next year I was shot again but I had dropped the melon and was high stepping like a mofo . The first time eat me up pretty good and took about 6 weeks or so to heel, the second time only broke the skin in a few places. I wasn’t wearing a shirt either time but one would of helped a lot. Also I don’t think he wanted to really hurt anyone but was tired of being ripped off. Between us and the deer it’s a wonder Charlie got anything at all to eat. Ohh I forgot to mention we knew the fella.

I use to salt my watermelon when I was a kid, but not any more.

We didn't have seedless melons when I was a kid, so it was pretty much a "take it outdoors" kind of snack.

I remember as about a 7 year old being quite concerned I could become pregnant if I swallowed a seed. :hump:

I can remember my Dad saying if you swallowed a seed it would grow out your ear, and I believed him as a tyke.

I started taking apart the engine of a mustang with a 170 ci 6 cylinder and the head has a broken thread connector that connects to the exhaust manifold. It is a 1st generation mustang with a generator, and I'd like to use the original head. Haven't driven the car for 10 years but in the past it did not seem to be a problem. I feel I could use it like this without having an exhaust leak when doing the rebuild. Are there ways to restore this damaged area? It would not need to be torqued tight IMO if there was a way to rebuild the threads. The 1st pic shows the busted thread connection the second pic shows the location on the exhaust mainfold with a red marker where the thread issue is on the head.
Thanks for any help or ideas!
