Today I set off the fire alarm in the entire ancient 1890 complex by cooking ribeye for philly cheesesteak sandwiches for my team at the jewelry store. I did not photograph the 8 firemen struggling to determine where the detector even was (buried in the walls??), who were unable to disarm it and only able to open a single window to assist. Guess I'm never doing that again. The 4 guys who got a cheese steak said it was totally worth the fiasco. I want to quit and change careers.20240201_131751.jpg

I had a busy f’ing week, on Tuesday I went to change a shower valve on a side job and found a pipe leaking in the wall so that turned into a emergency ( I may or may not have broken the pipe ) 4 hours later I had the whole thing replaced and was ready for supper and bed. Yesterday I started a big side job enclosing a carport . I demoed and framed for 8 hours , holly shit I’m too old to do this everyday anymore. But I got bills to pay ( house and car insurance went way way up ) so I’m blessed to have the extra work.
