What did you consumer fucks buy today?

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, as I actually didn't buy anything. But. . . . . we are signed up for USPS's service that e-mails you a picture of your mail for that day. Well the wife looked at today's mail, and saw there was something coming from the Treasury Department. She said, well we made a mistake on our taxes. We will either get a check or write one. (for a couple three years we had over paid by a few hundred dollars, and once we had underpaid) So I go the mail and we owe seven thousand and change in taxes. Seven hundred of it is interest and penalties. They didn't tell us what the mistake was, but we found it in less than a minute of looking at our copy of last years returns. I made $49K from pine trees, and we logged it right in the list to the left, but when we put in the column on the right, we dropped a digit, making it $4.9K. I don't mind paying the tax part of it, but I hate that it took them 11 months to find it, so we had the extra 700 bucks. We got the check written and will drop it off at the PO tomorrow.

It may be time for us to hire a pro. But this year there is no extra income, so it should be easy peasy. We will see.

I haven’t unboxed it yet, but a 15 pound capacity, horizontal, manual sausage stuffer. Sausage Party, baby !! Another fun item to add to the list of things I can produce and smoke.
My BIL, well, ex BIL now, has a meat grinder, electric smoker and all sorts of things to make the sausage making easier. When he lived across the road at Sister's he always raised two pigs a year. Most years he named them Ham and Porkchop.

Last week's thrift store run resulted in two pair of socks from the Christian store. Twenty five cent a pair. Today I got six pair. Also at the Good will I picked up a Snow Lion (a brand I had never heard of) sleeping bag for ten bucks. The zipper doesn't work, but I have been using my bags like quilts anyway. When I googled Snow Lion bags, they showed up on the high end used sites for $150-700. Very warm. But it's not light. 4.8 pounds.

And the wife ordered me another stripper shirt (for a cold weather base layer). This one in XL. I've been trying to talk her into wearing the old one around the house. I tell her it will keep her warm, but she isn't buying it.

Stainless trim tray with replaceable 150 micron screen.
Also got a stainless tray that fits over the top, keeps the dust and pet hair out during storage, gives you a place to put scissors, alcohol, seeds etc. during use.
It's a nice kief magnet too, roll around some grind and get a pile in no time.
