my kid has been on several camping trips.

see if you raise your child properly they won't allow themselves to be butt raped in the first place. :wink:

if your kid is old enough to be sent off alone for the weekend i would hope you've at least talked to them about this.

i thinkmost of you don't even have kids though.

Talking to them does help but is not my point. Anytime a child is with a non parent, the odds go up.

Underestimating an adults ability to control your child, especially when they are perceived to be in charge is quite common.

More than likely, especially if you have warned them...if they are molested, they will be unwilling to tell you, thinking they have failed.

It cuts many ways...and THAT is MY point. Gay or straight it doesn't matter.

Oh was that a direct question? No, I don't have children, but i can reason it out. I know that statistically non parents don't take care of kids better than parents, gay or straight.

Why would I be scared to say I don't have kids? It's a big reason why I'm 50 and gray hair free.

I don't know for a fact if it is or isn't a mental disorder. My point is - shouldn't we treat them just as normal as anyone else, provided they don't harm anyone in society?

Rick is taking the position of believing them to be a mental case who don't deserve equal treatment in American society until it's proven it's not a mental disorder.

I sure am, guess I'm doomed. I'm the same person here as I am IRL,so sometimes I see a post that I just cannot let go by without a sharp retort.Other times, I just want to have fun and joke around,so I end up being rude without meaning to(like hijacking a thread). I just have a lot of thoughts going through my head at once, so I have to put them down or else I'll forget them.

Well, I support the lesbian chicks opinion in this. I think obviously the school is at fault for ruining the entire event when they could have just permitted the chick to wear a tux and invite her girlfriend. OMG Lesbians are gonna ruin the whole thing for everyone!! OH NOES!!

Give me a break, whoever was in charge of that - Yeah, EPIC FAIL.

Well really, it's not like the entire district doesn't now know for sure that this girl is a lesbian. Canceling the prom won't change her sexual orientation, nor the town's knowledge of it. (Nor the nation's now, for that matter.) All it did was piss off a lot of other kids and surely their parents, and most of their anger will be directed at the lesbian instead of those who decided it was in the "best interest" of everyone else to just shut down the whole thing and bury their heads in the sand.

We tell our kids to be proud of who they are no matter what, but I guess that's only so long as they're just like everyone else. To me, that's the biggest hypocrisy of it all. Double standards, anyone?
