One more thing the "poor" actually pay the majority of the taxes in this country. So they actually pay for each others benefit they don't take much from rich people who get tax breaks unlike the poor.

wow, youre an idiot.

sorry to everyone, i know i was a little late on this but i thought that needed to be stated.

hey dumbo, the lower 48% of income earners pay ZERO income taxes. they pay the same user fee type taxes such as licensing, fuel, etc but they pay no income tax. look it up.

bottom line, they pay nowhere near a "majority" of the taxes. not even close plus they suck off more programs. what do they owe society? EVERYFUCKINGTHING.

now there are a large part of that population that i dont have a problem helping out. but there is a larger part that are nothing but leeches sucking off the rest of us.

For every person that wants to sit on his ass their are four looking for a real job.

There's always gonna be someone trying to get something for free. That's just how it is.
bullshit. you have absolutely no data to back that up. so quit spouting stupid dumb shit and making your "college graduate" ass, look like just a normal old ass.

38K a year and you are right wing, Man I'm impressed. Let me loan you a gun so you can shoot yourself in the fucking foot, maybe the head. I made that much while collecting Unemployment half the year, I used to be a union carpenter. Why are you so concerned about tax breaks for the rich, I'm really confused here, you know, under the rescind the tax breaks for the rich plan, they would still get a tax break for the first 250K, whick qualifies you for almost 7 times your income. Duhhh, wannabees are really dumb, aint they.

another weirdly placed, thinly vailed threat to person. re read your post here med and see if you dont find this a weird place to interject this kind of stupidness. its like going to the bank and seeing a fist fight. its just not the proper place for it.

seriously med, you are on the edge man. get help.

Sad indeed....

To know that a fellow citizen believes health care is a right.

...I just looked over my copy of the Bill of Rights. Neither is listed as an enumerated right.
neither was the right for women or blacks to vote, at one time.

right now, gays can not marry, although i'm sure you might agree that they should have that right.

it's just a matter of time before we *progress* to that point.

we are, after all, a *progressive* nation, as history has shown.

The Fifteenth Amendment guarantees the right to vote regaredless of race.

The Nineteeth Amendment guarantees the right to vote regardless of sex.

Which amendment specifically guarantees the right to health care?

Which amendment guarantees the right to an education?

Gays already have the right to do anything straight people can do. The Fourteenth Amendment applies to everyone regardless of sexual preference. That some states refuse to recognize that right is a matter for the courts.

Our Constitution is ignored and subverted all the time. Congress is a repeat offender.

*Progressing* toward Fascism is not really progress.

everyone should know what is the right thing to do without the freaking Constitution...Hell that thing is usually ignored until someone can use it for their benefit ( hmmmm just like the bible )..A piece a paper that when first written was only for white men...A piece of paper that has to be change constantly to make it right...but I guess we need something. I just wish people stop using it like its some phunkin HOLY GRAIL

Then why have laws at all?

If everybody should automatically know what is the RIGHT thing to do, then all problems should solve themselves; by your logic.

Like it or not, the U.S. Constitution was a ground-breaking document. It was unique it its time and it remains so.

While it is true we as a nation have not always lived up to its lofty principles, it is also true that today we fail to do so as well by selectively ignoring it. That goes for Republicans and Democraps.

But the Constitution is an exceptional document. Just as the United States in an exceptional nation.

I do see your point and by your answer you see mine as well....Lets just hope that we can do better as a nation to live up to that paper....and you can have laws without a constitution just look at Israel, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

The poor pay plenty by:

-Not having the same opportunities as middle and upper class to further themselves.
-Not being able to go to the doctor when they are sick.
-Having to have teeth pulled instead of fixed.
-Having to eat unhealthy foods that cost less, which in turn effects their weight and overall health.
-Not having any means of paying for legal recourse against injustices done against them.
-Not having a voice or influence (Money + lobbyists) in the world of politics where laws are made that they have to abide by. (No taxation without representation ring a bell?)

I could go on and on but when some moron thinks that the poor 'OWE' anything to society it's completely ridiculous.

Look at it this way, lets say we have 100% of our countries resources in a bucket. Now let's pretend there are only 4 citizens pulling from that bucket. 2 are poor, 1 is middle class and 1 is rich. Who do you think is using the majority of those resources? The poor person living in a one bedroom apartment eating ramen driving a geo metro using about 5%? The middle class person in their 4 bedroom house eating steak driving their SUV using 20%? Or the rich person living in their Mcmansion eating lobster driving their lambo using 70%?

So who 'owes' who again? How the hell do you think the rich get rich? Those funds and resources come from somewhere and it's always off the backs off the poor. ALWAYS!

The Constitution is not merely a piece of paper.

And the UK does have a Constitution. Albeit unwritten; it does exist in principle as well as in practice. Unlike our own, it is not found in one document, but several.

I did not state that a nation can have no laws without a Constitution.

I was refuting your statement that everyone should automatically know the right thing to do.

They clearly do not.

Otherwise Welfare Queens would not suck on the government teat, having babies they could not otherwise afford.

I think you know what I mean when I say that UK does not have a constitution ..you smarter than that...there is no enacted document in which the constitution can be found in the UK...They have to rely on many written documents or statutes such as the Bill of Rights, Magna Carta, Act of Settlement and Parliament Acts etc etc...no single document like the Constitution but if you need to argue then by all means do so..just show me a link to it...and you have laws so people who don't want to do the right thing will be held accountable...just because you don't do the right thing does not mean you don't know what is the right thing to do..

Horse shit. The last time I checked public education was provided regardless of station. If someone chooses to forgo an education, it is their responsibility.

-Not being able to go to the doctor when they are sick.
Bull cookies. Public health clinics and emergency rooms are both full of poor people. No one is denied medical care due to an inability to pay. That was the law before MessiahCare, BTW.

-Having to have teeth pulled instead of fixed.
Buffalo bagels. Why would they need to have teeth pulled if they practiced good dental hygiene in the first place? Dental care is not a right anymore than health care is a right.

-Having to eat unhealthy foods that cost less, which in turn effects their weight and overall health.
No one has to eat unhealthily. If some poor person is a lardass, it is by choice. Plenty of nutritious food is quite inexpensive. Sure, it's less convenient that the Golden Arches or Church's Fried Chicken; but it is available. A strict vegetarian can eat like a king and have a food bill which is quite modest.

My grandmother grew up in grinding poverty in the Deep South. She never could understand why I was a vegetarian. To her, meat was a sign of prosperity. She simply could not understand why I would choose to 'eat like a hillbilly' as she put it.

America has the fattest poor people in the world. A large part of that world sees obesity as a sign of prosperity.

-Not having any means of paying for legal recourse against injustices done against them.
Bull squeeze. Legal Aid exists just for the purpose of protecting poor people.

-Not having a voice or influence (Money + lobbyists) in the world of politics where laws are made that they have to abide by. (No taxation without representation ring a bell?)
Horse hockey. There are many lobby groups and special interests which do nothing but lobby for your precious poor. And every person in this country is represented.

I could go on and on but when some moron thinks that the poor 'OWE' anything to society it's completely ridiculous.
I agree. But it is no more ridiculous than the notion that the poor are 'OWED' anything by society.

Who gives a shit what anybody else earns or has? What is your solution? Wealth redistribution? Fuck that.

So who 'owes' who again? How the hell do you think the rich get rich? Those funds and resources come from somewhere and it's always off the backs off the poor. ALWAYS!
The rich get that way by working their asses off.

still waiting on that link to the Constitution of the UK....and my dismissive response shows that you just argue for the sake of arguing....Lets take public schools for one...You state because we have public schools we are giving the poor a equal stance as a rich person sending a kid to a private school...hmmmm are you not paying attention to all the cuts we have done to public education..dude we have public schools that can't even afford school supplies for the year...WTF...You also foolishly state that a poor person can eat just as healthy as someone rich....I myself try to feed my family as healthy as possible...We don't eat pork...we stay away from beef..only organic fed chicken ....mostly we eat seafood and veggies ( again organic )...dude that shit is not cheap..It would be a lot cheaper to eat unhealthy and if you don't know that then I gave you more credit then I should have...I will wait for your reply to break down the other foolishness you posted on...and please show me that link...lol
