its only 75 bucks i cant really afford anything bigger unless u guys got more wattage for same price?

Should be ok if you have a VERY small garden.

you generally need 100 watts per plant you can grow 1 plant under that.. 2 if ur lucky.

The thing consumes 408 watts! Seems like a very inefficient ballast.

It is a cheap light, but the running cost is nearly the same as a 400w equipped with an efficient ballast.

AHA, wonderful! you are considering buying my light. I have the Sun Systems 150 watt HPS also. I love this little light, I must say. The compact size of this unit is perfect for my grow cabinet in my sig. I simply mounted the light in the top of my box. Its lite weight and perfect for a small garden. I will be growing one plant only in my box and I plan on doing a mini scrog with the one plant. If the light is kept in a small confined space with highly relfective walls, then it is incredibely bright at 16000 lumens. plus, this light does not produce a lot of heat, so cooling it is realatively easy.

I am running a 250hps and it is doing great. I am sure this light will do fine as long as you know where your limit is for coverage. I would check Craigslist first... There is always something on there in my area.

i use this! its great! just not for quantity or large plants. its great however for small plants, single plants, flowering clones. would not recomend to use through flowering get something bigger bout half way though or more than one.

however its pretty good for what it is. small wattage and not too much heat

The first hid light I ever bought was a 150w. I disliked it from the second I plugged it in. I would just save a few more bucks and get a 400w. Then I can promise you won't be disappointed.

You can get many more watts of CFL for that price.

I would get 2 x 150w CFLs. More lumens and the same price. You will also have greater coverage as you can place the second light wherever it is needed.

You should go on Ebay. Yesterday, I saw a 1000W HPS full setup go for about 65 bucks. I know.... it's Ebay, but I saved a ton of money by switching to Geico....uhh...I mean, by buying supplies on Ebay.

Maybe you weren't paying attention, but he's about to buy it online. Same shipping time give or take a day or so. Why not save some money at the same time. If he buys from this site, he'll be paying a minimum of $95. Since you are obviously emotionally attached to your light, and show bias, he can get the SAME EXACT light for half that from Ebay. And to think anyone is not interested in saving is just crazy.
But hey....maybe I'm wrong and he wants to get a light by paying as much as possible for it.......cuz that makes all the sense in the world. God forbid you want him to have any money left over to buy nutes, or testers, or soil, or seeds......etc, etc.

And even if he wants to save a few days, what the hell do you think growing is all about......huh? Yep, you guessed it......WAITING!

Well maybe I was just offering him MY opinion and you can go fuck yourself. Maybe just maybe.

fuck more watts lol its all about the lumens and color spectrums!

and hell yeah ebay and amazon are great places to save cash!

so i would say stick with your low watt hps and throw in other lights as you can!

trust me you will not be disappointed!

i for realz feel what breakneck is saysin though!

but i would say get the hps first and add your cfls as you can cuz they super cheap!

okay so heres a pic of my early flower room. i use the same 150 watt hps that you are looking at. only i use two and got mine on amazon for like 30 bux each. all the lights in here are the 2 150 hps, two clfs= to 150 watts each and one cfl thats equal to 300 watts. also there is a couple green and red t-5 flourecents in there that i took out for the pic. the oldest i let plants get under these lights is 3 weeks of flowering than i switch them to the 400watt hps. the reason why i would say go with this light is because it sounds like your trying to keep it under wrapps and this light is great for stealth because it has the built on ballast and heat isnt really a big factor. now if you went up in wattage you would have to start worrying more about heat and ventilation and remote ballasts. so with this its all in one cute lil package.

however if your trying to do more then like one of two plants all the way to havest with this light i would highly discourage it! you wont get the penitration you need and end up with a large main cola and lil baby popcorn nugs all around.

so if you do end up going with this make sure and invest later in cfls or another.

and take a lil from what everyone says cuz this is all about personal prefferance try this try that and soon enough youll have your own lil routine down.
