What do you think of my design(sog)

I have been searching this forum for a while, and think i have a pretty good design for my first grow room.

I want to do a sog garden. and heres my plan.

Veg room = 3x4 with 400w mh

i plan on painting the inside of each box white, and have co2 generators and a carbon filter. And i will be venting the boxs into the attic I want the plants to be on a cycle so i get about a QP every week. thinking about 14 plants a box. and harvesting 2 plants a week.

Will 2 plants give me about a QP??
And what do you think of my design

Maybe you could replace that 400 Watt MH with some 4 foot T5's to save electricity.

In a SOG if you are doing it right you get about 1 ounce per plant so you would need 4 plants per week for a QP

In your 4x4 space you can have alot more then 14 SOG plants. For a 3x3 space you can run 16 SOG clones in 1 gallon pots and that would equal 4 plants per week. A 3x3 tray could be ran under a 400 watt light.

A 1 gallon pot is about 8 inches but you could use smaller pots for a higher plant number. Say run 7 inch pots for 25 plants per 3x3 tray.

CO2 is for rooms that are closed with Air Conditioners.

In a room with venting / exhaust it is seen as a waste.

the lights are fine, use either of the two air cooled reflectors.

more seriously, i would suggest you do a practice grow of a couple of plants before you go to full production. there is a lot to learn from trial and error, about your plants as well as your setup, and you can get overwhelmed if you're focused on so many plants at different stages of growth.

i just ordered stuff from htg grow supply. To be honest, they have a hard time picking up their phone at either one of their stores

edit: in fact, ive yet to be able to get a hold of anyone at the stores *during normal business hours

yea, i wasnt planning on goin into full production at the very begining. i am goin to start with fewer plants to begin with and work my way up. i just want to get a qp each week by the end of the summer. i figured i would use 2 different feminized seeds, and make those my mothers, then clone off them after a while. and i have a pack of normal seeds that i was goin to experiment with and see what happens.
And if i use the air cool tubes, will the lights still kinda heat up my grow room

what no drawing of the plan?
Let me skip to the bottom for ya sport, no, you are not going to harvest 1/4 # of bud from 2 plants out of 14 in a 4 x 4 box.
There isn't any design, you have given us links to some products on a web site, many of us have already seen 400 watt and 600 watt lights, cooltubes too.
The idea of a SOG grow is smaller plants, just the cola's and more of them. You do not get 2 oz/plant doing a sog garden. We can talk about how you plan to cut a week off of flowering times to achieve this some other time.
Two problems you will have, one how do you deal with those 7 different plant heights, two how do you deal with giving them different nutes depending on maturity.
Why are you going to need a 400 watt light for one mother and 2 clones, whoops four clones, it does take about two weeks to set root ready for a sog grow. I take it the 3 x 4 space is because thats what the light you want to buy covers, I have one over a 2 x 4' table with 12 mothers that are 3' high, just took 63 clones off them yesterday and in 2 weeks I'll do it again. This is more space and light then you would need if the rest of your plan was sound. VV

thanks VV i needed someone to rip apart my plan and pick out all the flaws. i will draw up some designs, and think of better plans, and how to deal with the two problems you described. If there are any other problems point them out please.

Expect to take 6 months to a year before you will have the expertise to keep this garden producing a steady supply. A QP a week is dreaming! Expect dead cuttings and plant pests, yellow leaves, burnt top leaves, rotted roots etc til you have some hands on experience. Don't even try to count your chickens before they hatch or you will be greatly disappointed
