let it fill up a 5 gallon bucket and carry that to the room, then drop a pump in there with a hose on it so You got a portable sink type deal....

Your pH meter might be off.
Tap, you mean city water.
should be 7.0 or higher.
if it's not, you have big problems with your water
I wouldn't drink it.

tap water is fine if it measures under 210-280ppm any more and it may be a bit hard. This will contribute to excess salt buildup and in turn cause all sorts of issues associated with high Na.......everyone here is talking hydro, right?? i see posts about 5 gallons a week and watering with tap water.....sounds like soil, just checking??

I use a fair amount of water and tap has been working out ok.....140ppm and 7.2ph before nutes and buffers.

hope that helps....

I use tap water, and not always evaporated.. don't check PH, and plants grow fine...... Go figure..I know some that use all the toy and do all the supposed shit and still grow crappy plants..

wow..700 ppm!! that's not water that's soup..
yeah its far from ideal thats why i avoid it and have always bought, but now going to ro. And to the other poster about why would i go RO excluding poor water quality. I am on the all natural kick and am quite picky on what goes in my plants.

my water is 50 ppm right out of the tap 7.1 ph
Do u use any type of P.H conditioners? I do. ^ and down when neccesary.
Fluctuations do occur. Especially if you dont get the res thouroughly clean between water changes. I dont use ro water on my plants but do grow fish with it. I think by using this water it gives u full control over the environment U place ur plants in. I wish someone would finally place a Nutrient X Bacteria table concerning nutes and how they work with nitrates so i could better understand exactly how this balance occurs.
