What does everyone use for viewing trichomes?

Swollen calyx and brown/orange pistils that have receded into the calyx.
That sounds a little pornographic (LOL) but I actually think I understand what you mean with that description. So, I'm looking at the PISTILS and NOT the trichomes. They flying around al willy nilly out there but at some point they will darken up and hug the calyx real tight like and that's what I should be looking for? I mean, it makes sense.

Maybe this photo will help give you an idea.

Looking at trichomes through a magnifier is for rookies. Learn how to identify ripe buds. Your goal is to be able to identify a ripe bud a 10’

also looking at this. It's probably shite but I'll try it out... then again, I'll def find my loupe around here somewhere and will most likely do what I always do and spend money I don't have on a macro lens for the camera. Really wish I was better with money. LOL
If you already own a DSLR you can probably get a clear enough view of your trichomes by taking pictures as close as you can, with the highest resolution setting, and then blowing that up on a computer monitor. Use a tripod if you have it. Its silly to spend money on a camera lens that you are going to rely on less and less as you get more growing experience.

I should also say that it's largely strain dependant. I have three different strains in flower now, all being fed at 1.3 - 1.4 EC. One strain has shown some very slight tip burn, while the other two are happy.
