What equipment do you use?

Ive got a 5x5 space indoors to do a grow. What equipment do you use? I guess im looking for a shopping list of sorts. What all do i need? I want to grow them in soil cause its less maintenance. I will only have the 1 space so veg and flower need to be done in the same room.

A size space like that could handle a 250 or 400 watt system and be sure you use a high powered fan to attach to your reflector, enclosed reflector, like a cool tube, and proper ducting.

If you want to jump start a grow, the bare bones min equip you need: ballast, reflector, fan, timer. Buy that stuff first and then purchase the stuff you need to piece it all together, like ducting, clamps, etc. Then work on your grow area, making sure its well ventilated, has no light leaks (believe me, you don't want to remember to close closet doors at 6 pm every day).

How many plants can i grow in there you think? Is that enough light? Reason i ask is i see people on here using 1000w

It depends man. You have options despite your grow areas size. You need to first figure out what kind of lights you want. Some people use lower cost lights (but sacrifice yield and whatnot) by using a CFL system. Though if you have the money go for an HID system IMO.

It all depends, then from there basically it's ventilation, also make sure you have a good grow space (though damn near anything can suffice if you work around things), and nutrients/feeding/ph/whatever.

At least from what I know. That's the basics.

i use a 600 watt hps in a 3x5 area i could put about 6 or 7 plants and i use cfls to veg in a seperated part of the room

A 1000 lamp is way more than you need. If you're just doing this for personal smoke, stick with a lower cost, lower wattage system. I've purchased all my stuff several years ago from HTG supply and have had zero problems, 400 watt system, duel ballast, a couple growbright centrefuge fans. High amp timer came with it, all still works perfectly, probably invested $500. Keep a little 4" office fan blowing on your ballast.

I use a 1000 in a 4x4 foot area.werks great.
