what exactly does frost do if it comes incontact with the bud?

well ya title says it all.....anyone no?

not much at first, pot will withstand a few nights of about 27 degrees, usually no more than about 3 in a row, i have had many plants make it through one or two nights. the buds themselves will be mostly unaffected, first you will notice the leaves die, they will droop and get all slimey, then the skin of the plant will do much the same, the main buds themselves will survive fine, as long as you pick them right after you notice the leaves all dying or you know you had a bad frost(27 degrees or lower) potency will not be effected.

kk ty....wouldnt the stress of the frost mabe even boost the thc count?

frost hitting the plant only causes cool temperates, but frost on the plant can cause water to freeze and form crystals that will destroying the plant tissue

I think this is a myth. Tricomes are to keep the humidity higher then the surrounding air. Breeders have insured your plants will have the highest level of tricomes possible.

I'm sure I'm going to be vilified for posting this as it goes against what seems to be common knowledge around here, but last year I let my plants go through 3 light frosts and the parts of the plants that were the most purple also had noticeably fatter trichomes. It seems that the stress caused by the frost triggered the plants to produce more resin. I'm not saying that you should go out of your way and freeze your plants, the cold definitely slows growth, and can even stress your plants to the point that they hermie(one of them did). I just think that there is something to the "myth" that stress caused by cold can increase trich production. Maybe I'm crazy, I know that there are a LOT of growers with much more experience than me on this site, that just seems to be what I was seeing.

frost isnt the best for it lol but it makes your bud turn a shade of purple sometimes at least thats what it did to my lower branches this year im pumped for the crop!

thats some true ass shit. my boy had big ass 8 foot bushes that were still alive when it was snowing in middle november!!!!
