What happens if I use a 2700k CFL on sprouts?

I'm a little confused as to what you are using.
So correct me if I'm wrong.
You have several sprouts at 1 " under a 40 watt 2700k cfl?
What do you mean Apparently you did 6500k for vegging?
If your sprouts are only 1 " high, then they are probably just going into Vegetation.
If you Used the 6500k to Germinate and sprout them, then you should keep that on them, after a week or so add the 2700k light in with it. As they get bigger, add more to them .
For those 3 plants 250 hps would be good, should be at least 50w / plant.
If you can deal with heat depending on grow space size I would say go with hps.
If not Stick to Cfl's
You got it mostly right seejay, sorry if i was confusing. I meant it has been, and it is still under a 2700k bulb, but I read somewhere on here that 6500k was best for vegging plants and i'm not using that. My question was how much is that going to hurt me? or should i just go ahead and get a 6500k bulb until i go ahead and get my hps. and if i go with the hps, is 250 watts the right size? or could i bet by with a 150 and some cfls?
Well, it will still grow with it, just not to its best ability, Might get a little stretchy on you.
As for the hps, rule of thumb i've always been told is at least 50w per square foot.
Right now i'm using a 400w hps in 4 square feet, so thats 100w per foot.
But, 150w should be enough. You can probably just get a few more Cfl's for vegging,
and upgrade to the Hps when you feel like putting Her* if its a her into flowering.
