What happens in a power outage

I'm growing in an apartment & using DWC buckets. Im 3 days in to 12/12. Today there were flyers on everyones doors stating that the management would be installing new electrical panels on the 15th and "you may or may not experience extended power outages on this day".

1) How long can my plants survive in DWC with no oxygen? I have already invested quite a bit in these plants...is there a cheap generator you can recommend?

2) Will my plants likely become Hermies? if the lights are messed with during that one day?

your roots are still suspended in liquid, so they will do fine for a while. a day or less, no problemo. root rot is more of a concern than hermaphrodite issues, but again, u should be fine, just maybe dose it with h2o2 that day

I'd run 2.5ml 35% h2o2 per gal day before outages. Take care of any issues before hand and let water be it's best.

That is just me. no generator... Also you do realize that if they are changing fuse or breaker panels, they very well maybe coming into your apartment.

I had one Last night.. for 1 hour.. Sucked.. all i had to do was Make sure Timers got reset

They didn't say anything about coming into the apt. I hope they don't want too, but in case they do i should be able to control the smell. The actual grow is in a tent in the bedroom...absolutely no reason for them to go in there though.

I was thinking about renting a generator from home depot. But I feel a little more at ease now. So RawBudski: 1 hr with no power, and no noticeable negative effects??

nah dont worry. worst case do it the old fashioned way whip the water manually to air it every now and then lol

You can empty your rez for like 2 hours and let them get the air bath then add nutes back for about 8 hours then give them another 2 hour air bath. Depending on how long your power is off you may want to repeat a few times. I would just reuse the same nutes instead of a new mix. Hope your power goes out when you are in the majority of your dark cycle cause then you can just empty the rez for the entire 12 hrs off since they done uptake nutes during lights out anyways.
