What I’m doing now!

Day 55 of 12/12.

included a lower growth shot of colours to show that even using a low EC under 1.4 can still grow healthy plants without issues.

again I reiterate my bottles of nutes are as follows.

DUTCH PRO HYDRO COCO GROW A/B

Plant magic Calmag

DUTCH PRO EXPLODE

Epsom salts

pH down

Next run I will be mixing up some MKP to use at 1ml per litre as per @spek9 trials of 143g per 1L for max concentration of MKP.

This i will reduce to 14g per 100ml
To make my stock solution of MKP.

this will replace the DUTCH PRO EXPLODE to begin with for a run where I later may look to introduce the MKP alongside the EXPLODE.

Just a little follow up post.

I Monitored my runoff EC 3 feeds ago and it was starting to get High. 1.2 in 2.0 coming out.

I don’t often Check my runoff EC anymore but towards the end of flowering I like to monitor it slightly to see how the rootzone is kind of performing.

it’s not an ideal situation to check runoff EC and it’s much better to perform slurry tests for actual readings.

but I do find that you can tell a small amount about what’s going on with a quick check.

this is what I do.

I feed as normal and allow a good 10-15% runoff to flow through.

then I catch the remaining 5-10% and test this runoff.

I reduced my feed strength for the last 2 feeds from 1.2EC down to 0.8EC as the runoff was testing at 2.0EC.

I know from experience that when the runoff EC has increased to this level it also means the pH might be too low due to excess salts being present in the rootzone.

so I reduce my next 2 feeds to 0.8 and pH around 6.5-7.

this I find allows the rootzone to slowly reduce in EC and slowly increase in pH.

As you can see though this hasn’t had a negative impact on my plants and probably wouldn’t have but I like to air on the side of caution as these plants are entering their bulking stage and I like to make sure the medium is ready for this.

last feed EC was 0.8 in. Out was 1.2.

next feed which will be tonight is going to be 1.0 and this is where I will leave it for at least the next week unless I see another EC increase spike.

I’m currently only using base A/B and some Epsom salts for additional Mg and S.

The S from the Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) is additional Sulphur which helps with terpenes.

Day 63 of 12/12.

EC in 1.0
EC out 1.2

much happier with this. Now I will stop checking the runoff EC as I am about 10 days away roughly on pretty much all the plants.

by Wednesday I will be feeding 0.6-0.8 EC feeds and this will stay at this level until I harvest

we should start to see some fade over the next week or so.

I never cut out nutrients all together and I’m always feeding until the day I cut.

Nearly there.
Day 67 of 12/12.

the white Siberian could be harvested now along with the Eleven Roses.

critical still needs a little longer.

I will most likely over the next few evenings slowly begin to harvest the WS and the ER piece by piece so to speak lol.

current EC 0.7. Consisting of Base Nutes A/B pH’d around 6.5.

Looking awesome dude! They’ve finished up nicely! Now to resist the temptation to try some as they dry haha.

Are u in a soft or hard water area?

Won’t be around much tonight.

harvesting as I’ve found a large cola last night with budrot.

I’ve removed said bud and checked all over and found nothing else.

U.K. weather this past few weeks has been shit and rather than adding my dehumidifier to my area I thought I would risk it.

high 62% (nights)
Low 42% (days)

where it was found seems to be a stagnant pocket of air in my room so for now I’ve added a USB fan pointing directly down towards this area.

I’ve also purchased another 3 usb fans to position around the room for greater canopy air movement.

I think that has been caused By me not stripping away all that growth that I mentioned that I normally do. 3FF2E6E8-B141-463E-9714-330452EAD9A8.jpegF268AEE5-FDE2-4824-BC0A-6AC84959EAEB.jpeg1395D77E-9BA7-4B8D-9AE2-BDBB8934A800.jpegE43E3E72-3D00-4C9D-9D18-E5B506D3B196.jpeg0691C9F7-82C8-4CB3-BEAF-E6CCCEEA9914.jpeg95E93CFA-A4F2-4630-9E4E-52D1FAC1107C.jpeg49B303C7-2851-4F30-96AE-CF6E2A3A2AD9.jpeg

Nearly finished.

I’ve taken my time this week with harvesting which has been really great.

here’s where I’m up to and what’s left for the last bit of harvesting tonight.

I’ve had to add another small string line just under these above so that I have enough hanging space for the remaining few sticks. 640773C4-57F3-4786-B516-F2D5F9C16BCA.jpegF73BE56A-10DC-4E4A-9F42-2F38F1A35ECB.jpeg9C8D0DE2-09CA-4D19-9248-0A5BB897123B.jpeg292E36E9-6303-402D-8CAB-4F9677A7BA19.jpegD3A4F144-5825-413F-B71F-E12C7F2F01E4.jpeg2DA16239-19E5-414C-AF85-BC74FE4E7C80.jpeg

And finally I’m done.

Normally I would bring each plant down one by one into my dining room and lay out the table with newspaper etc and chop away until I’m done.

Although this way took me a week I don’t actually have schedules to follow etc as I only grow for myself.

Right now my room is off and all leaves and rootballs will be in my compost bin as of tomorrow.

Last shots before I begin manicure once dry.

Also included my BHO collection bowl lol I usually keep this bowl for playing around with.

Sometimes I’ll blast it other times I’ll make butter with it.

Just to emphasise the amount. I’ve used approx 66 pegs to hang up branches and some of the smaller ones I’ve hung without pegs as I’ve only hung up Critical+ without pegs so as to not get confused as to which is which lol. Now for the update.

plants are currently receiving 1.4EC feed.

yesterday I switched my timers to 12/12.

as you can see I’m leaving my MH bulb in for now. This will stay for approx 2 weeks then I will switch it out for the HPS.

As I mentioned the Ca def symptoms haven’t progressed so I’m happy that they’re happy with this and I will keep with the 0.4EC of mono Ca for the time being.

during the next 2 weeks these nets should fill up pretty well I think!

Mate I was hoping to find the what's and whyfores as to wtf I'm doing! Now that I have decided to acknowledge that I have alot to learn,as it were. Or is! So reading through this journal is answering pretty much all I need for proper direction. Well happy.
