I just want to interject somthing that I did not see anyone touch on, no pun intended on diemdepyro's post. Anyway, I was under the impression that a "cola" is more commonly associated with an indica strain where the buds go so close together and compact, due to the small bushy nature of the plant, that you get the cola on the main stalk. As a sativa dominant plant goes I thought that they tend to grow more spread out and less thick. In contrast to what I just said I am aware of how training practices can have an effect as well as the crossing of various strains thus allowing an individual to "colas".
COLAS : I thought it reffered to above "the neck" ( like a shirt ) of the plant or top/ crowns. which reffers to the main buds or highest points recieving most growth hormone"??
???????????? .... tips, head, crown, colas ?????? Im too stoned.......

Sounds alittle stupid now that I have read it........

according to the latest issue of High Times---The Ultimate Pot Cultivators Guide) is when many buds grow together on a single branch ............
i believe it is on top of the plant but may not be restricted.

It's what I said originally, where the buds form close together on a main stem and you end up with a big chunk of bud.

The cola is the solid mass of flowers at the end of the tips of each branch. The top cola is the largest and they get smaller on the lower limbs of the plant.
