right im sick of this now if you cant see it then you are stupid

when someone does not understand or mentally challenged you talk to them in the appropriate manner.
And now you want to give me a lesson on etiquette?:lol:

At least Im not the one who resorts to petty, childish name calling...

So your implying Im mentally challenged? And your only source in this argument is your "20 years of growing...and Google."

How can you be so slow? You said it right there in your own god damn post. The process of turning light into plant food. It used the light, H20 and carbon to create plant food.

Light is not the plant food. Light + H2O + CO2 = Plant Food.

Not just Light....Your leaving a huge part of the equation out when you say that light is plant food because light alone is Not plant food.

Your basically trying to argue that 1 + 1 + 1 = 1

:peace:
LOL lets say the plant as everything it needs to germanate (seed does not need light to germanate) every thing is in the air everything is in the ground the only limiting factor is light. throw light on it it will grow to say plant food is not light is the same as saying the food we eat is not food. why say light is not plant food? when id does the exact same job as our bodys do? i.e we throw food down our neck ATP we grow

throw light down on a plants leaf ATP they grow.

again the sun is food or energy for every living thing.

im getting board of this now:sleep:

Sun is not food for every living thing. Mold does not need light to grow. There are a lot of things that live in caves where it is 100% dark at all times.

You clearly dont know what your talking about and your drawing conclusions and making very general statements.

The difference is Im looking at the details and your looking at the bigger picture...like a 5 year old.

Your argument "Light makes plants bigger, plants cant grow without light, light initiates photosynthesis so therefore Light Must Equal food"

My argument "Light is Energy so it cant be food by definition, but anyway, if there could be a food source for plants it would be the Sugars that they produce during photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis does not turn Light directly into food, it uses light, carbon, and h20 to produce plant food.

Therefore Light =/= Plant food

Light + h20 + carbon = "Plant food"

Your skipping over a HUGE part of the process of photosynthesis when you claim that Light = Food. And saying Light = food for all living things is absolutely absurd.

This argument should have seriously ended right after this post. It lays it out so clearly. If you cant understand that then I dont know what else to say.

Well, our method of energy acquisition is the chemical opposite of plants so you can use that as an analogy
Respiration is O2 + CHO -> H2O + CO2 + ATP (energy)
Photosynthesis is photons (energy) + CO2 + H2O -> O2 + CHO

So in my mind since respiration requires 'food' in the form of carbohydrates but is not the mechanism to feed the organism, then photosynthesis has to be the analog of respiration and not the digestive system, which has analogs a bit in the root, phloem/xylem assimilating and moving nutrients and water to be metabolized. In this way, the light component since it is a part of photosynthesis would not be considered food anymore than oxygen would be for people.

im done, im not going over all that again if you cant see it then no matter what i say makes no difference im not wasting anymore of my time talking to you. *bye bye*

ps
i hope you feel all smug with your self thinking " iv won an agument over the internet" you havent won i just cant be arsed to carry on talking to you.

Good riddance. When a person makes logic errors and fallacies like equating metaphors and analogies to reality, other people are just not going to accept what they are saying regardless of how many times or how passionate they say it.

Saying shit like:
when someone does not understand or mentally challenged you talk to them in the appropriate manner.
is pretty funny considering your posts come across as someone mentally challenged. You cut and paste articles to support your position and they end up contradicting it on closer analysis.

Then in the same post you say:
ps
oxygen is made by plants water is need to sustain life and with out it you would die sooner that if you went without food water would not be here if it was not for plants because H2O is 2 parts hydrogen 1 parts oxegen

Ignoring the fact that plants wouldn't be here without water, rather than the other way around, the reason you give is that water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen, hmm, okay.
The earth was transformed by plants. It made a livable, breathable atmosphere, however liquid water was a pre-requisite. Plants don't make water, they consume it.

You even pointed out that germinating seeds don't need light. In fact, they have all of the 'food' they need to survive for quite awhile until they need to turn on photosynthesis to make more food as their reserves run low. If light was food, they would need it from day 1 just like an embryo in the animal kingdom, they need to be fed.

Yes, light energy is necessary for plants to live. It is necessary for all life. All organisms use energy, whether it is packaged in molecular bonds which can be broken to release energy, or the heat from hydrothermal vents that some bacteria have evolved to utilize, or photonic energy which is then converted by plants to organic molecules used for growth and energy storage, energy is essential for life. One of the definitions for life is something that is able to utilize negative entropy by converting chemicals and energy into cellular components. Living things require energy to maintain internal organization and to produce the other phenomena associated with life. Yes, we can agree energy is essential. That DOESN'T MAKE IT FOOD! Food has it's own definition. If energy=food, then logically, the light bulb itself needs to be 'fed' electricity. I need to feed that pot of water so it will boil. Your refrigerator is 'starving' everything in it by removing heat energy.
Classic reductio ad absurdum proves your claim wrong. Once again, analogy and metaphor are not to be taken literally.

This was never about winning for me. I offered to agree to disagree several times but you just kept coming back with ridiculous posts thinking you would change my mind.

The FACT is Light is not food. You dont seem to comprehend a concept that a 5 year old would understand.

Your the only one that seems to consider it an argument. I know what the facts are, if you dont agree, or if you have a different belief then that is fine by me. I have said that since the beginning.

Even now, after all that, you have to act like a child when you decide to stop arguing. Why couldnt you have simply said you agree that we disagree and leave it at that instead of resorting to childish name calling and whatnot. Your acting like a stubborn child....Only a kid would understand that light isnt food...:lol:

Hahahaha. Wow. Im curious how you came up with this almighty claim of Stupidity..... Im sorry, Im trying to keep it friendly but are you freaking serious?

This is just ridiculous....Water was here long before any plants or animals ever existed.

I think its become quite clear you have absolutely no grasp of any of the concepts of Biology or Botany... You dont have a clue.

i dont need to talk to a botanist i have been reading it my self for 20+ years growing years and even longer if you count school years biology lessons. the wonders of books and the internet there really is no need
to talk to someone who get their knowlage from the same book.
Hahaha...Yeah, Well maybe Botany classes or any biology class would be a little too difficult, it seems you still need to work on spelling and grammar.

You would learn more in a college or university in 1 semester then you would in a lifetime of reading Botany and Biology textbooks online or crap that you google.

You need someone who understand the concepts to explain them because your clearly not grasping them correctly. Your comprehension of basic concepts is flawed and you consider basic Analogies to be Facts...

Not every word in an article or textbook is fact, when they use basic comparisons to explain a concept its an Analogy, Not necessarily exactly how it works.

You need to read the Whole textbook or the Whole article, not just one small paragraph that popped up when you googled your question, if you dont look at the bigger picture how can you ever understand how it really works?
