Compact Flourecent Lighting.....regular flourous have a seperate ballast to ignite it a cfl has the ballast components built into the base....

A CFL is a compact fluorescent light. It is similar to regular fluorescent tubes except that it is compact and coiled to fit into the amount of space of a standard light bulb and fits into a common socket.

wow... this took like not only no searching on the forum but no searching in any search engine like google either. A quick search for CFL brings up about 10 pages worth of info. Since I am feeling nice right now I will put a quick reply as to what they are...

Floros are tubes long lights CFL's are small light bulb lights that put out light like a floro but dont require an additional ballast they have one built in.
