What is going on here?

I just got these and was told to let them dry out for a day or two and the roots should start popping out, I let them go a day and one of them just keeled over dead, and the others started turning yellow along the edges of the leaf progressing towards the vein. I have since given them some straight water and split the lighting so as to give them a little rest about 5 hrs on then 1 off. I want to get them into my ebb and grow system but was told to wait till the roots start popping out. What to do?

Someone throw me a bone here or im going to lose these!!

They need feeding, some humidity and some 18/6 that should perk them up. Bigger pots also needed.....
