I was thinking more of lollipopping plants that vegged 5-7 weeks. In that case it seems the plant is being reduced to match the lighting, and therefore a waste of time growing it larger than the lights. That it would be better to veg less so the plant is sized to the lights, or add lights to make the most of the investment in growth.

I don't know anything about SOG. Maybe it's justified.

Here is some pics of some little girls that I have growing in a micro box that I made out of scrap wood. They have been lollipoped and I have taken some fan leafs of to allow light through the really dense canopy. There is still plenty of leafs there for photosynthesis.

Oh yeah almost forgot don't worry your plants will be bigger than the ones in thee pic. Those girls are growing in an 18in by 18in box under CFL. There is five plants in there and they are all doing fine to give you an idea how tight you can pack a sea of green. But don't pack it that tight under your light lol.
