hey RIU,im having a bit of a hard time trying to find out what my little 7 day old seedling is trying to tell me!

the leaves are raised into a Y shape high up in the air almost like they are trying to touch each other :S my other plant (diesel ryder) is doing pretty fine its leaves are getting bigger each day and whatnot =) but the amnesia lemon doesnt seem to be liking it too much for some reason =/

does anyone know what this means?

is the light too close?
is it too far away?
too much water?
too little water?

i have no clue =/

really need your help guys

its currently vegging under 2 140w 6500k cfls until i move it out into y greenhouse to flower under sunlight

heres the link to my grow :

how close are the lights to the top of the seedling? try moving the light 2 inches from the top of the seedling and water every 2-3 days depending on how dry/wet the soil is. the leaves sometimes makes a Y shape as they stretch towards the light. the seedling should start growing very soon. some strains take longer than others to develope from seedling.

thanks man,yea i dont think it would be magnesium deficiency or that because they are only a week old and my diesel Ryder is in the same soil and that seems to be doing pretty good :S

can't say for sure but I had the same problem using seedling soil. the doc had me add some lime but don't remember why. lol Thats the problem with being an old stoner memory sucks

The lights are too close or its too hot, the same thing would happen to me when I would put my seedlings outside in direct sunlight. Their little leaves would almost be touching each other, and then as soon as i put them in the shade they would go back to normal.

Magnesium

Magnesium
is a component of the chlorophyll molecule and serves as a cofactor in most enzymes.
Magnesium (Mg) deficiency.
Magnesium deficiency will exhibit a yellowing (which may turn brown) and interveinal chlorosis beginning in the older leaves. The older leaves will be the first to develop interveinal chlorosis. Starting at leaf margin or tip and progressing inward between the veins. Notice how the veins remain somewhat green though as can be seen in figure 15.
Notice how in Figure 16 and 17 the leaves curl upwards like they're praying? They're praying for Mg! The tips may also twist.
This can be quickly resolved by watering with 1 tablespoon Epsom salts/gallon of water. Until you can correct nutrient lockout, try foliar feeding. That way the plants get all the nitrogen and Mg they need. The plants can be foliar feed at ½ teaspoon/quart of Epsom salts (first powdered and dissolved in some hot water). When mixing up soil, use 2 teaspoon dolomite lime per gallon of soil.
If the starting water is above 200 ppm, that is pretty hard water, that will lock out mg with all of the calcium in the water. Either add a 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of epsom salts or lime (both will effectively reduce the lockout or invest into a reverse osmosis water filter.
Mg can get locked-up by too much Ca, Cl or ammonium nitrogen. Don't overdo Mg or you'll lock up other nutrients.

Give this a try I dont know much but hey, if this sounds like your problem give it a try.

Don't f*ck with it, bro. Some seedlings just do that. I had 2/30 seedlings do that to me just recently. Conditions were perfect.
They both grew out of it once some more nodes starting coming in.
I used to freak out when I saw that. It's best just to let your plant grow through it.
Magnesium deficiencies look much different than that and usually occur during flowering. Just relaxxxxxxx ...everything's fine. ;)
Good luck!

epsom salts is just that. You can get it at most drugstores. Yes that was it the wavey leafs but in the seedling soil I added some lime just before watering. mixed it in as well as I could then watered. I added the epsons salt after replanting. plants where about 10" tall.-

The first few weeks you don't even need much light. just don't over water and you'll be good. I would wait 3-4 weeks before adding nutes and such.
