What is the best "Cheap Man's" soil to buy?

What is the best "Cheap Man's" soil to buy? I am on a very tight budget and have been using Miracle grows products for everything. Vegetative and for blooming. Is there a better, cheaper product at Lowes or Wal-mart I can use? And also is Miracle grows products ok to use? I have had one indoor grow so far and it came out pretty good for a beginner. Thanks

try to find a green house or a garden center, they will almost always carry a locally made organic soil. This is usually the best bet.

well your at it compost leaves in the yard or food scraps ... just google that takes time but is free..

I would say composted horse manure, or cow manure. You can get that stuff dirt cheap, if not free from farms by the truck load. This being in the indoor section, bringing shit into your house may be a bad idea lol. Possibly baking the soil first in the oven would kill any pests or buds in the soil. Another guy mentioned garden centers? Alot of those garden centers leave their soil right outside after hours sitting there defenseless....lol.

If you go to the garden center at the big chain stores look for HUMUS its about 2 bucks a 40 pounder then you can add bat guano and pearlite and get a good soil mix. You will have to use nutriants of course or look up sod farms or nurseries and get some landscaping dirt. It is a well balanced blend but you will have to amend with pearlite and bat guano.

If you do some research here there are recipes for making organic soils with the raio's to amend the soil.I wish there was a key word search but remember that GOOGLE is your best friend.I have found alot there. I have grown outdoors and trying to make the move to indoors.

How many plants are you thinking about growing? Exactly how much soil are we talking about here? If your going to grow small (which is pretty much what "tight budget" means to me) say 1 or 2 plants, most likely in a smaller space, therefore smaller pots and less soil. What's 20 bucks or so for a bag of quality soil and some lime like say Fox Farms Ocean's Forest or Happy Frog both organic and have enough nutrients for the first few weeks of veg. It will last you a while and soil is obviously very important. This way you will ensure your plants ability to absorb nutrients and provide it the proper nutrients during the first stages of it's life. It's not a BIG expense so why not just get what's right for the plants and it will more than pay for itself...Please don't just throw your plants in some horse shit soil..^^^Literally..lol^^^ Just my very humble advice to you friend. EDIT: Also, A 3 Part nutrient system would maybe run you 20 bucks as well at a local shop..you will get a product specifically made for your plants and you will have MUCH better results and have an easier time feeding them without overfeeding etc..
