What is the overall consensus on Mars Hydro?

Is RollItUp in favour of or against this company?

I'm just curious and I'd like to know. I've got mixed reviews on different cannabis forums. What say you?

Mars Hydro has been in the lightning game for 12years. I give them props where it's due. They're not my go to light but I would consider them if I was shopping for a 6-800 dollar light. If you go with a Mars Hydro newer led for your rated area you can't go wrong. Lightning has changed a lot in the past 5 years. With bar lights, more understanding of spectrums, design, features, heat dissipation etc. it's becoming easier to shop for a light and get the results. Like a car, machining has gotten so good most cars are dependable to 100k at least with basic maintenance.

Depends on fixture, I personally prefer Growers Choice or LUXX over any other LED. I ran Gavita 1700e & 1930e and wasn't happy. Not bashing brands but just speaking my personal experience.

Three Luxx 645 will cover a nice area and punch through plants pretty well at full power.

I'm a spider farmer guy. I like their stuff at their price point. That said their are more and more manufacturers out there getting years under their belt.

Lighting is starting to become like brand name vs generic drugs. Only most new entries dont offer a generic price point, they want 850 for a 500 dollar light. Are they really different? I see some of the same lights for double the next guys price

I have replaced my 400w HPS setup with a MarsHydro FCE-3000 which utilises the bridgelux diodes.

no complaints after 2 runs so far and I feel like im
Pulling more weight with the LED than I ever did with HPS.

Mars is good. I personally don’t consider them low budget lights once you get up in to 3-700 watt range. But they offer the ts600 and 1000
Which are really really good for dirt penny cheap. Consumer value. Mars is winning right now imo.

ALOT of it I guess is due to workers pay where the equipment is produced.

for example.
1 guy making a 480w light in USA will be paid approx $20 an hour to produce said light.

1 guy making a 480w light in China will be paid approx $5-10 an hour (just guessing here) to produce the same light.

if all other variables such as electricity costs/rent etc are the same then each light can be $10-20 cheaper per panel just on the hourly workers rate for instance.

I've been pleased with the lights I have from Mars Hydro, they seem to be well put together. Like the others said, that's really what it comes down to, people putting the same components together. With all of these lights, it seems the main weakness is the connectors, and they all seem to use the same ones. Just make sure you check your connectors regularly to ensure a solid contact to avoid frying them, but that's true of all brands not just Mars. As far as results-I think any of these lights in the same wattage range could produce an equal amount of quality bud depending on the grower, you aren't going to get a real advantage from one over the other-that's how similar they are.

China minimum wage is 3.9 dollar. Us is 7.25

not to much of a difference

and I’m sure cost of living is easier out there

We also have to take into account things such as

USA manufacture - ships parts from China across the world to USA- then ships lights around the world.
which inevitably will cost more and more as oil prices continue to soar.

China manufacture - ships finished lights across the world. no shipping costs for parts other than domestically.

That's false. The minimum wage in China is different all across the country and in some places its as low as 14.3 Chinese Yuan which is about $2 USD per hour. My source.

Not to mention "Child labor" is a growing concern. About 7.74 percent of children between the ages of 10-15 are child laborers.

So big difference between here and China. When you say not much of a difference it's laughable.

I didn do much leg work other than google Chinas minimum wage and it brought up Shanghai has the lowest in the country at 400usd a month And usd conversation chart. I’m sure your sources are better than the global economy website google gives you for reference. And no shit China is a BIG fucking difference in lifestyle. I’m just referring to wage and wage only. Numbers.
As far as child labor. Idk nothing about that. I heard something about Nike years ago. But they’re still communists no? That’s there’re way of living. But again. I didn do the leg work like you prolly did. I just went to that first .gov link I saw. That’s all.

Wow no need to be salty. The thing about China... they consider someone making more than the equivalent of $2.30 a day to be above the poverty threshold. The economics there are much different than the United States.

General consensus..? They're lights, they grow weed. Most brands use the exact same components, so you're kinda just comparing diff kinds of apples. They mass produce these lights which is a good and bad thing at the same time. Generally customer service is good. It's all about what works for you in your budget and grow space
