What is the white stuff on the lower part of clones??

I never do anything like that.
I use old dirty scissors, I don’t wash my hands, nothing.
I clip it, trim it, dredge the end through some clonex gel and jam it into rockwool. I use an rdwc cloner I invented, because it is as fast as an aerocloner, but cloning with any method is easy. I have had okay success rates jamming them straight into FFOF in a seedling tray with a humidity dome. Lol, not important, turns out.

i wouldnt promote that practice bro......

I am just relating the facts of what I do.

I like the almost religious tone of your admonition, it’s borderline hilarious. I mean no offense, but seriously not a huge deal. If I worked in a commercial facility I would be concerned about best practices, but I do not.

Hey OP, hit them with the bleach when you can, they might still make it.

Like I said I added the dutchmaster zone 10 mins ago, should I put bleach in too??? Also once you get that substance is it too late for the clones or can they still root??
They can still root. I'd just change the water out and use plain tap water. Keep it fresh and change it often if you notice it cant go 5-6 days without frothing.
You can use bleach like suggested or 3% h2o2 from the drug store at 15ml per gallon. This will keep your water fresh and sterile with no harm done to the cuttings.

Are you adding anything else to the res? You cant use the DM zone if you use anything with beneficials or organics etc.

I use the dutchmaster zone and a botainicaire power clone.

I use to always go 24/0 for clones and prob 2 months ago when 20/4 for my lights, seems to make no difference so far.
I can only tell you what I did and what took care of my rooting issue, including that same white foam ring.
-good luck

Btw, I had 100% failure rate with that white fuzz present

with warmer res temps, Id just go with plain water and something to keep it sterile. 3% h2o2 is good for about 3 days and needs to be re-applied to the res as a "maintenance" to remain sterile between changes. The higher your res temps, the more likely you are to develop res issues.
My rez temps now are prob 65 degrees in the summer prob like 75 degrees.

Love the simplicity, rock on.
Thank you...As you can see I'm not to concerned with cleanliness and sterility..lol. and I have 99-100% success rates this way.. I used to use a homemade bubble cloner when I did lots of clones at a time.. now I just do a small hand full at a time with this method.. (the old school way) works for me.. I don't cover them either and they are not in direct light
