What is wrong with my plant

A friend of mine gave me a couple plants for free because he had too many. They are called Dr. Grinspoon. He told me he didn't think it was anything special because he likes indicas, but a very unique plant and some of the hardest weed plants to grow. He said they been in flower for a week or 2. I have had them for 4 weeks so I would think they are in week 6 of flower. I only been feeding them about a Tablespoon per gallon of Fox Farm Big Bloom one or 2 times a week because I was told to feed very light on these. I give them just plain water the other days that they are dry. They had some heat stress the first couple week I had them but now it's under control. I'm using a 400w hps with a CO2 generator. My temps are now 85ish. On warmer days it gets 90 so I have to shut my generator off to get it closer to 85, but the past few days have been cooler. My humidity is around 40-50%. My ppms range from 1200 to 1800. Just using city tap water. Low stress training used, no topping. These are pure sativas. I really need to add some blue spectrum. The leaves are kind of yellowing and some have parts turning real dark and crispy. Is it still maybe too heat stressed? Am I not feeding enough phosphorus? Those are my guesses but I'm afraid to feed too much because I know these are very sensitive to nutrients. I know I can't really fix the damage already done. Should I just do a flush? It's in a 3 gallon container, should I maybe put it in something bigger? My other one is doing a bit better and it's in a 5 gallon but it is starting to yellow slightly. I've grown other plants before and damn do these take forever to transition. The buds are just finally forming. I'm kinda newer to growing but do have a little experience. Thanks so much in advance. Here are the pics.0.jpg1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

This is the other one that looks a bit better in the 5 gallon.7.jpg

lol no prob, well i looked at pictures man and i dont know what to tell you. im not real good at knowing what definciancy is what aint very good at spelling either lol. anyway somone should come in here who will know what to tell ya. but ill guess anyway im going to say it could be any of these things, root bound, ph problem, not enough nutrients, its something around them lines. you may have said this already but is it in soil or hydro and whats your ph?

Soil. Half Fox Farm Ocean Forest, half Pro-mix I was told. No clue what the soil PH is but my tap water comes out at 7ish. I only have a cheap PH meter for liquids. Actually pretty accurate though for how cheap it was. I do calibrate it before every use and it never gets far off 7. It actually broke on me from water damage a while ago. I left it to dry and now it works like new again LOL.

Also I have no sign of bugs except I see gnats flying around once in a great while. I never see larva in the soil though. I usually add spinosad when I water and feed to keep them at bay. Other strains seem to tolerate it fine. Seems like a few come back just a few days after I stop adding it or run out. The guy I got the plants from is a decent grower but I rarely see him. He is very clean and only has a few gnats here and there like me.

Yeah it's kinda early LOL. I'm just surfing the net a bit before work. I'll have to check back later. Thanks for the help.

I have a similar problem with mine and was adviced that yellowing of the leaves is not too much of a problem if the plant is flowering.

you need more nutes! brow black spots on leaves tells you you need P.
Your plant is more yellow on the bottom leaves wich makes me belive you need to add N + MG (yellowing starts from bellow when N def)
Are your stems weak and bend easy? then you will need some K!
it also looks a bit overwaterd, bad ventilation, heat stress, high humidity? You should also note that your internode spacing is outrageous! lights closer or add some CFL for better illumination. and make sure to check PH on the water running out of your pot after watering to check a more acurate soil PH.
a close up of a leaf would make it easier to make a good analysis.

you might want to look into that again cause i cant say i would agree with that ever. yellowing leaves are ok with 1-2 weeks to finish TOPS.

Thank you for the response friend. I would also have to agree that yellowing of leaves is not normal except at the end of flower. Thank you for the response though RingWraith. Sure the plant will survive fine, but will not be as well as if it had it's leaves. I'm told they're each like a solar panel and should only be removed if they're blocking the buds too much especially in a SCROG which I am also doing with another strain. Looks much nicer than my Grinspoon LOL.

Yeah I was also thinking nutrient deficient since I only been using FF Big Bloom. I do not think it's over watering because it's in a 3 gallon and I only use 1/2 gallon for watering/feeding. I only do it when the pot is light but not to the point where the leaves droop. I never have any run off when I water/feed. Next time I water should I just use straight water until I get run off and check the PH? Lately my heat and humidity have been under control. My humidity has been closer to 40-45% lately. Heat rarely rises above 85F and I am using CO2 which supposedly you can have temps up to 90 from my reading but again Grinspoon is a very sensitive strain. It probably could use more side lighting. I know this strain stretches a bit more than usual because it is a pure sativa, but mine may be stretched even more than it's supposed to be. Thank you so much though. I will post more pictures after my camera is charged. You guys have been very helpful.

Looks like N deficiency at least... probably P too. But you say your nutes are 1200-1800PPM. I run hydro, so I dunno if that's normal in soil... but that sounds way fuckin high to me. I run my nutes in DWC 650 PPM in flower on a .5 scale.

So with that much nutes in your soil and having deficiencies, you might have a ph problem locking out your nutes. Adding more nutes could be lethal. First steps are to make sure the environment is correct... which means measuring ph and make sure you aren't over watering. Then once you are sure everything is correct, you can start adjusting nutes knowing that your adjustments won't make an underlying problem, like ph lockout even worse.

Thats 1200-1800 ppms of CO2. I don't ppm before feeding nor do I have a meter. I just use mls with an oral syringe. Also medium is soil. Thanks for the response.

I don't think I'm over watering. It's in a 3 gallon container and I only water/feed when it's light. I only give it 1/2 gallon. It usually calls for it about every 2 days. I feed with 15ml/gal of Fox Farms Big Bloom every other watering.

My environment is good for the most part. It just gets too hot on the days when it's warmer out because I use outside air as my AC. It hardly wastes CO2 because it's natural gas which is very cheap compared to propane or bottled CO2. Plus no hauling tanks. On the days like today where it was a bit warmer out where I live, I turn off my CO2 generator and keep my room door open with a fan in the doorway. I try not to get higher than 85. On average lately when i run CO2 it's 85-87. If it gets warmer I turn it off and open the door with a fan and the temp gets 80-85. All depends on the outside temp.

Here are some other pics. Sorry got called into work otherwise I would have had these up faster. Thank you so much everyone for the help so far. It is much appreciated! I'm anxious to get to the culprit of the problem. I'm just scared to overfeed this sensitive strain and want to make sure it's a deficiency. I'm sorta newer to indoor growing so I figured a lot of people here would have much experience. I've learned quite a bit just reading other pages. I think i'ts always best to get several second opinions cause I'm sure a lot of people here know much more than I do. 1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

You can see the plant is yellowing and even developing some brown spots on the leaves. I'm thinking maybe it's cannabolisis? can't remember what the term is exactly. When an organism doesn't have enough food it starts consuming itself.

i know this is late but i would have put them in a bigger pot its like a gallon a month soo yea and it looked like they needed more nutes ... and if it were me i would have clipped some of the lower branches also that way theres was no wasted nutes. and the light i would have moved to about 18inc. above the plants.. half fox farm and half happy frog would have been a better mix with some jamaican bat guano. as for useing tap water that should be fine on where you live like calli tap water is good. if you dont live there to be safe look at the ph level.. hope this helps you for your next grow

Thank you for the response. I use air cooled hoods and my glass doesn't even get hot. I'd say they are close to 18 inches. It would be closer but I needed to make room for my Holy Grail Kush. I will use 600w instead of 400 when the temps get a bit colder outside. My tap water is excellent and PH is always 7 or very close. Thanks a bunch for the help. Damn I knew I should have did bigger pots. I could still put them in 7 gallons? I know it wont fix the damage done and I know roots don't grow much in flower. However do you think a bigger pot now would still help a bit? It still has a long while until it's finished.
