What is Wrong With This Plant?

Leaves look yellowish green and stunted. Growing in Fox Farm Coco. Around 9 weeks of veg. Gave Jacks 321 nutrients at 25% one time last week. Always ph 6.5 - 6.6.

Are you using Coco Loco or Coco Coir? Coco Loco is treated more like soil (with better water holding). FF Coco Coir is soilless. The puffy looking leaves and browing leaf tips tend to make me think overwatering. For 9 weeks in veg, it's pretty small. Here's what mine looked like at 8 weeks:IMG_0870.jpg

Plants seem kinda undersized for 9 weeks.
Im thinking you are using Bushdoctor ( fox farm ) coco loco. Basically a medium that can hold some moisture- but lightly amended with bat guano / some myco / ph buffers and EWC. But … this medium is not nute charged so you will have to supplement.

Comparison to their actual “ soil “ like HF or FFOF , you probably would have had a much easier approach with a bagged soil that is already preloaded .

Instead of guessing feed ratios and amounts.

Apparently they recommend a ph of 6.3-6.8 with this product …

My 2¢ … water / feed everytime. This is some hybrid approach that just makes things unnecessarily complicated instead of letting a more rounded soil do the work. Normally you try to get some kind of “ dry back “ time ( when doing actual soil ) but since it’s designed to hold moisture longer … hard to gauge appropriate watering times.

These are the other 2 I have going as well. They don't look as bad, but way shorter than what you got going on. I only water when the pot feels light. Maybe I should cut back on how much water I give them when they do feel light. No nutrients have been giving to them either.

I'll have to switch to the Fox Farm Ocean Forest next time. Seems like mixing my own nutrients doesn't seem to work out as well. But for now I'll add in Jack's 321 formula every time I water now. I usually water when I lift the pot up and it's really light. Sometimes I don't even water for a week. Thank you!
 
Are you using Coco Loco or Cultivation Nation?

Their Coco Loco mix is: Aged forest products, coco coir, perlite, earthworm castings, fossilized bat guano, Norwegian kelp meal, oyster shell and dolomite lime.

This is why the package tells you to treat it like soil except water less frequently.

Get an EC pen and measure your feed. If you want to go with drybacks, you can do still do that (if you're in Coco Loco), but feed with nutrients every single time you water and feed at around 1.0-1.2 EC to start.

At 9 weeks in, you should be stressing out about running out of room and how you're going to manage the stretch in flower. Those little shits need some nutrients.

While you're at it, what is the light, the dim setting, the distance, and RH/temp?
 
This is my 2 ¢ … with a grain of salt.

Based on their own PH recommendations…. ( ‘ treat it like soil ‘. )
Using their 6.3 - 6.8 range - if it was me dealing with this - I would go grab a bag of FFOF.

I would topdress ( a few cups per container ) and water in ( no ph ) - straight TAP.
Not only are you “ recharging “ the host medium but you are now allowing this new fresh ( and nute dense ) soil feed those plants - all without measuring fertilizer or other drama.

Then run it as a ‘ water only ‘ container grow with supplemental topdressing ( fresh soil ) at intervals thru out the rest of grow.
The topdressing will feed plants for at least 2 weeks between ….
Plus …. FFOF has all of the missing amendments plant is looking for. Tap water will be buffered by the FFOF and will also provide Calcium / mag from municipal water sources. FFOF also has calcium / magnesium also.


This simplifies things and allows you to continue.

Save your Jack’s ( which is good stuff ) for a different grow.

Sorry for bringing back this post, but I have a question if you don't mind answering. I wanna start top dressing instead of using Jack's 321. I seem to always burn my plants when trying to mix my own nutes. When using a 5 gallon fabric pot with FoxFarm Bush Doctor Coco Loco as the medium, how many cups of FFOF should I top dress with? I was thinking 2 cups per gallon starting at the end of week 3 from planting, then keep going every 2 weeks.
