I was just looking over some electric bills...

this got me curious - how many KW Hrs do you use in a month? and what are you running?

i have a 4 bedroom house, with a 2KW grow and i use between 3000-4200 KW Hrs per month in the winter (no ac)

the highest bill i got in the last few months was during veg period where i used 4140 kwhrs in 32 days... and was charged $360 for it in the southeast usa

How many KW hrs per month? thats what i'm looking for...

i think i might have some other appliances sucking up massive amounts of power somewhere... my grow should only take 1150 kw hrs per month but i usually use lots more than that, and everything else is pretty energy efficient... supposedly

It depends on your electric company that your with, Only way you can find that out is to see your last electric bill and it will say at the top how much your paying per klwh.

wallyp - you end up paying about 12c per kwhr... after all the taxes and fees i'm guessing.

i got a power plan with a high base rate ($180) and $0.03c per kw hr fixed, so essentially the more power i use the cheaper it gets... but its still pretty expensive at about 11.5c per kwhr at 4140 kwhrs/month - sometimes i calculate it to only 8c though.

the other plan that i could choose is variable rate, where winter time electric is 5c/kwhr and summer is 12/kwhr... up to an amount, then higher prices per kw/hr for each "tier" you cross....i didnt like that because i lean on the AC really hard in the summer and the bills get BIG.

anyone else know how many total kwhrs they use in a month? and how big the crib is...

i just saw my friends power bill... he has a house down the street, roughly the same size... same # of occupants.

he's using about 700 KW-hrs per month... compared to my 4000.

I am considering of increasing my usage by about 1500 KW-hrs so i would be at about 5500 KW-hrs...

as long as i pay my bill i'm good, right? anyone been paying outrageous power bills in a small house for a long ass time?

FYI ~ I read on this forum that the cops are asking power companies to report any residential customer that's using more than 4KW per month. This sucks but it's real.

yeah - that sucks... now that hard times are here though, i bet the power companies aint giving them shit...

the cops wanna take out their tier 1 customers!!

if they electric co gives up 4 customers... that could be a 2 grand a month loss - they dont want that. (I hope)

i've had the 2KW rollin' for about a yr and a half... i never really paid attention to how much i used though...

you are paying 12.37 cents per KW-hr after all the fees... you can call the electric co and see what other plans they have... they will have a high usage plan that coul lower your bill...

I pay just over .05 cent a KW hr, but then they throw on a .06 KW hr fuel charge. Then taxes.

Which do you think would be a better choice for your money? The 4 lamp T5HO, 20,000 lumens @ 234 watts. Or the 6 lamp T5HO, 30,000 lumens @ 351 watts ?? Any suggestions appreciated!
