The burbs. But I can see the big city from here. It's about 10 miles. I sorta need a city close by cuz of the culture. The Phila. art museum is great. I try to go a couple times a year. Plus there's lots of micro breweries to hit while sight seeing...yeah I need my big city fix once in a while.

Poll and thread inspired by 420god's life :-P. So what kind of area do you live in? I want a farm in the country dammit!!

oh you must be jealous I got the farm in the country not a huge farm but I got over 50 animals. no way will you ever see me live in a city no way I like to be able to fire guns out my window and other stupid shit you'll have the police at your door for in any neighborhood. And my meat and eggs are way better then anything you get in the grocery stores all I need now is a few cows 1 for milk.

This is what you want, it's a friends place I show this to a lot of people. New deck this year..

It's off grid and has Hydro power so free power and water, down side 2 mile drive on a dirt road.

My house is at the end of the power grid in the western Sierra. Quiet, secluded, perfect but for one thing.
The person that will put up with my shit, lives in the Bay Area and loves to shop. So....

5% of the time I live in paradise,
the rest, I'm dodging bullets, looking over my shoulder, locking doors, replacing cameras, fighting traffic.

Did I mention she can cook?

I live right where the tar roads end. Very woodsy all over. See the occasional turkey, rabbit or deer in the yard. Sooooo wish I had a farm. Its good to know FSA will help me out. Gonna be married to a beautiful pinay. She doesn't mind me blazing either.

i live in the city, but it's a practice city. it's the kind of city you live in to prepare you for living in a real city. we have all the filth and crime and noise with none of the attractions. really good restaurants, though.

i live in a neighborhood of three deckers with people stuffed in like sardines and no parking.

...city, but like John Mellencamp, I too did everything for the first time in a small town.

...don't care for the city, you don't get to wave at everyone while driving by them. (minus the middle finger wagging, of course :) )

The wife and I live on 10 acres. In the late 80's when we purchased the land it was very isolated so much so that we invited our parents move onto the property and they did hell it reminded me of the waltons except we all had our own homes. Well over the years our little slice of heaven has become developed to the point where we are considering selling and finding a new slice of heaven but thats just a pipe dream for now the wifes parents are in their late 70's and my mom is in her mid 70's my pops passed away 11 years ago it wouldnt feel right leaving the old folks to fend for themselves.
I guess the solitude we had in the begining listening to the foxes watching the deer and turkeys and if we were very quite we would catch a glimpse of a bobcat every now and then.I guess I'll have to trade in the quiteness and solitude for a damn pave road and noisy neighbors and I forgot about the higher taxes ..........well as I sit here and vent to you good people there is 8 acres of grass calling my name........time to hop on the old trusty john deer pack a bowl get to work..........hell who am I kidding I wouldnt trade this shit for nothing
P E A C E !

On 5 acres here in the rurals.I love it,theres at leaste a good couple of acres to my nearest neighboor which is boundaried by a thick treeline, and the neighboor to my other side is about 100-150 yards away.Plenty of trees and fence line bushes to keep covered from view and it stays pretty quite for the most part.

I'm on the outskirts of a city that is a 'burb area of a bigger city.

and btw if it tourists season, does that mean we can shoot one?

Get goats for milk.

I'm living in brooklyn right now but im going off grid when it makes sense for it in western colorado. It's not really about the bud being legal there either. I think colorado is the safest place to be from natural disasters. Tsunamis cant reach, hurricanes dont go inland that far, from what i read; hardly any earthquakes. Plus the summers are amazing and the winter is real winter, not NYC bs winter. (taxes are much lower then NY too)
