What kind of def is this and how do I rid of it? *Shining Silver Haze strain in her 7th week of flower. *Using FFOF soil & 3 pack nute system as directed.

Going in it's about 6.2-6.5 ( according to the drop & vile tester ). Then when I check the run off it varies.. Most of the time it seems high upper 7's but the last couple of test came back @ about 6. And what is the best method of mixing nutes with water. Ph the water first, add nutes , and then ph again . Or just mix all and ph before feeding.

Mix all and ph before feeding. Add pH up or down accordingly. Also thats a manganese or potassium def. Flush really well, as salt can build up and lockout nutrient uptake. It doesn't have to be about pH.

add all n utes first then ph your water, could b ph spotting or cal,mg def, sencond pic bottom leaf thats mg def and mg is a mobile element so it will show signs of def in older leaves,so with that and your ph being 6 cal gets locked out in soil at 2.0 to 6.4.are u using ro water?
my answer cal mg def.

Thanks for all replies.. I have about 3 wks left until harvest. Should I flush and continue nutes or just continue pure ph'd water after flush until harvest?

how much longer till your harvest, according to the breeder.cuz to me looks like you got 3-4 weeks,u could start flushing now but if it has a long flower time your gonna stop the feedings,i would get your ph together with cal mg plus and do a good watering then see what happens all your pistols are white my plants look like that at four weeks,so i would say u still need to feed her

Its not a fucking cal/mag deficiency! It's toxic salt buildup from too many nutes. Straight water until harvest and you will thank me. bcuz there are plenty of nutrients in your soil mix.

what ppms are u feding?and if it was a toxic salt build up you would see alot more def,not even any nute burn.im going with cal mg

Read THE FUCKING ATTACHMENTS MR. GREEN. WHAT DOES IT SAY ABOUT POTASSIUM TOXICITY?!?!?! i believe it says, "...slows absorption of Magnesium and MANGANESE." In conclusion, TOXIC BUILDUPS CREATE NUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES.

The pictures are too yellow and don't show enough of the plant to say anything for certain. Chem, if you would be so kind as to please post new pics under normal lighting, including a couple of the entire plant. Thanks.

Perhaps the discussions could be put on hold until new photos are in.

I'd be glad to take better pics in the morning. My pics never come out clear but I'll do my best..

Plants need exceptionally low levels of Manganese.
What you are seeing is an immobile element deficiency.

Discerning Mobile from Immobile is usually very easy. Blotchy and non-uniform spotting located between veins and on veins indicates immobile element deficiency. Mobile element deficiency is usually more uniform and located between veins.

This is a result of how elements move in the plant. Nothing fancy.

The primary immobile element that would cause this issue is Calcium. Phosphorus and Calcium bind for mobility and are interrelated when it comes to utilization, which might help explain some of the issues (if your buds aren't forming as large as you'd expect).

Being that you are 3 weeks from harvesting, I don't think adding more of anything is going to resolve the issue. Also, Calcium is not in high demand during flowering. If the issue you have was related to salt toxicity (namely Potassium) you would be seeing issues with Magnesium as well. The yellowing of the leaf would actually reinforce this diagnosis. The lack of necrosis though seems to indicate otherwise.

Since the spotting looks fairly old, the overall look of the plant still mostly healthy, what I suggest you focus on as a solution (despite the "correct" diagnosis) is to rinse the media with pH balanced water and top dress with 1 Tbsp dolomite lime per gallon of soil and water through it. This will establish a pH buffer, correct any pH deviance in the media, as well as provide a complete micro-nutrient profile for the plant to utilize.

When it comes to spots and yellow leaves 3 weeks from harvest the last thing you want to be doing is mistreating the issue. Fortunately, the solution for nearly EVERY issue in a media grow is to simply flush the media and establish a healthy buffer of nutrition once again. At some point one of your ratio's went out of whak. Regardless of whether it is toxicity, or pH, or anything else, the focus here should be on the media and the solution used. Not on the plant. When you react to issues on the plant you are already knee deep as it takes time for these issues to show. Often times in flowering "windows of opportunity" open to push the plant with specific nutrients. Keep a journal of when this issue started so that the next time you grow this strain you can anticipate the need for micro-elements and a balanced pH.

Of all the things you could purchase to help resolve the issue a reliable digital pH meter should be first on your list. They are only $40... and when it comes to not destroying your plants... $40 well spent IMO.

Yeah I been meaning to grab a digi . It's def next on my list.. So I guess I'll be flushing till harvest. Seems to be the safest thing to do .
