What kind of fan for 6" DIY carbon filter?

Will the following fan be enough for a home made 6" carbon filter?

or will I be forced to rather use high velocity, more expensive exhaust fan?

Those fans don’t pull much air. I bought one and it didn’t do the job for me. I ended up buying a 400+cfm fan that works great but it cost a bit more. Check the link

It will if your just pulling intake. I wouldnt recccomend running through your hood and out your exhaust on one line though. Its too much distance and not enough static pressure.

Thank you BudMcLovin, it is a little bit off my price range, I might opt out for a 4" then.

hoagtech: I'd just set up a flexible pipe next to the 5 plants I have and suck the air out into the filter. If you're saying that this is enough I'll go with the cheap 6" inline fan I posted in my first post instead of the high velocity 4 or 6 inch one that Bud recommended.

I have two of them running right now just for my 600w lamps air cooled hood. They work OKAY....I would suggest getting the higher CFM inline fans for cooling lights but for intake on a tent i will say them fans are good enough. I would be buying up to a vortec inline fan soon.

You really can't beat this set-up for $133. I have the 6" version for $185...Excellent choice.

One more question, can this setup from HTG be in the same area as the plant or does it have to be exhausted out somewhere else?

Yes, you want to put the carbon filter in your grow room above your plants and then exhaust out of the room. It will do two things: Get rid of any odors and help exhaust your heat.

I'm actually asking if it is ok to recirculate the air cleaned by the carbon filter without having to push the cleaned air outside of the room/building and maintain the natural air intake as it is now.

You need to exhaust out of the room to allow room for fresh air and co2 into the room

The room is not actually totally sealed off, it is a furnace/boiler room, the door to it is vented from top to bottom to allow air in and out per any city code. Am I good then?

Hey midnightjoker, the htg fan with carbon scrubber works well? I was looking into buying the 6in one, says it puts out 424 cfm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? We only have a small 4x4x6 tent but it's in our bedroom and we only have 6 vegging and they're already stankin! lol any advice would help!! thanks!
