what kind of limestone

You want dolomite lime. You don't want hydrated. I mix in 2T into each gallon of soil mix.

Pulverized(powdered) dolomite lime is what you want.

I use about two to three Tablespoons or so pr gal.

k i found a bag of ground limestone from another hydrostore the stuff u guys buy from home depot the 40 pound bags r hydrated lime mixed with dolomitelime thats why i dident buy it

We use lime in mycology but have to avoid dolomitic lime
because of the Mg it contains.....but this is part of why it
is beneficial for gardening use.

Hydrated lime is the harsh stuff that burns, fast. (think of
the scene in "Fight Club" where Tyler burns his hand)

HL is very good at raising pH fast.

...but it is more likely to be crushed egg/sea shells or dolomite
that you will want to add to your plants.
