Use high N, low p/k during veg. The opposite during flowering. Hurry up and give them some ferts. You're wasting valuable time.

You can give them light doses of ferts early on and increase as they get hardier. I try to water every day or every other day and use ferts every time until 1-2 weeks before harvest. If you can get the watering down to where you can water every day, just enough water...you can make those babies grow well.

Just some idiot
Go to a hydro shop, you should have one near you if you live in Mass. Also you can order online...plant nutes are legal. If you go to a shop you can eye up all your options...there are a bunch and they might be able to help you by explaining certain products to you. Just keep the "bad" word out of your questions say you are growing tomatoes:wink:

Go to the foxfarm website and there is a thing where you can locate a store that sells foxfarm nutes and it will most likely be a hydro shop. DOi the search and see what you come up with.

I assume this is a soil grow.Neither of those are really good to use but of the 2 the 1st is lesser of the evils. The shultz is a disaster waiting to happen. You may even be better with just using miracle grow moisture control soil and plain water for 30-45 days then you can get some bat guano some nureries carry it or can get it but you can get it online and its not incriminationg or anything as its sued in gardens by many people. Just add some to the top of your pot and water. Add a molasses feeding when getting close to flowering stage and make sure you ph your soil since your not using a formulated feeding nute.Id suggest fox farm since your new as its good and very hard to burn plants with but if you wanted the best Id probably say Advnaced Nutrients or Dutch master

My plants are 3 weeks old and i havent given them any nutrients yet what do you recommend for veg. and flowering?:joint:
Personally I used good soil, plenty of Perelite and dried blood mixed in with the soil for the first 2.5 months; no nutes in veg at all and no problems at all. She has been flowering for 3 weeks and I am using botinacare pro bloom 1.5-4-5 and mollasses. She is 5 foot tall and going ape shit. Check out the link if you are real worried about nutes in veg. I wouldnt be.

also read fdd2blks thread on its all bullshit.

Im not saying dont use nutes in veg, just simply saying with good soil and proper care it really isnt necessary (soil grow im assuming.) 2.5 month and she was 22" tall and bushed out before flowering.

Id take the shultz back as its not really for these plants. I use miracle grow moisture control (only the moisture control the rest is crap) for my plants .I use 3 gallon pots or 5 gallon buckets as I grow moms in dirt usually but am doin a side soil grow since I havent done one in years.I give just water first 30 days. Ionly veg about 2 maybe 3 weeks as plants usually ar about 12 inches tall and full then Ill go 12/12 and add some ferts to promote the bud sites and flowering. Molasses adds that needed carb boost for resins and weight.these are liek 9 days old in these pictures.Noting but the soil and straight water at 6.8 ph.Well the group shot is at 9 days the single plant shot was 6 days old in the pot
