Basically..
i have two 125w dual spec cfl's
in my grow tent they are both attached to one extension lead, which is attached to another lead
if i buy a timer ( mechanical ) will it start a fire? or burn my bulbs
and turn them off safely?

theirs a mechanical timer in tesco should i buy that? dont know the exact specs
can any UK grower give me a shop with a timer, a good timer e.g bnq homebase

under a tenner

Look for the max power load of the timer.
In the UK we run on 240v. You have 2 x 125W lights so your power load should not be any more than 2A.
I use cheap mechanicals bought in ASDA for a couple of ££ each. One per appliance though.
Hope this helps.

Asda £3 digi wicked timer dont use the segment timers their shit.
are these 3 pound digi timers anygood ? when i needed one alls peeps sed was dont buy a cheap ass one coz if it spikes on ya u will fook up ya grow especialy if ya av just gone to flower,,, but eh 3 quid is cheap and if u aint had no probs wiv urs then i guess they shud b ok !!
do u think u could run a 600 watt ballast n bulb through it without worying that it might get a power surge ?
i will have to check it out coz at that price i could do wiv another one, i av got another spare timer but its just a cheap one and not designed for 600 watt ballast to run through it !!!! i wonder what the manufactures guidelines are on it ?

i have been using 1 of my timers for 5+ years and i also run 2 digi 600's on said timers with no problems i used the segment timers but they kept fucking up, they would blow and leave the light on 24 hrs also if the supply goes off for any reason the segment timers stop until supply is resumed with the digi's they store your settings and have a backup battery you can unplug them for 6 months and they still got the right time on them you can use a surge protector i don't but thats your choice
