What method yields the most? (SCROG, SOG,etc) +rep!

I have a 4'x5' flowering area with 1030w of LED/HPS lighting. I'm currently running a seperate veg tent so i can continually rotate; but, can't figure out how big I should let my plants get.

My veg tent runs 4x 90w LED UFOs. The plants veg very quickly and I'm worried that many will be too tall by the next round.

So my question is, what setup generally yields the most? Should i keep them small and do 15-20 small plants, or should I take less clones, let them grow, and have anywhere from 10-14 medium plants to even 4-6 really large plants?

What's going to (consistently) have the largest yield?

I'm even willing to get creative with building something if I have to :)!

This is something ive been wondering about also. Ive always heard that SOG is the way to go for the most weight...but i guess it all depend on what you want, more bud, bigger bud, or of course more bigger buds:mrgreen:
Either way, its a good topic

Most of the bud is grown on the top 1/3 of the plant. In a SoG setup you would take clones from mothers and flower them as soon as they had a good root system. Smaller plants but you will get anywhere between 1 - 3 oz per plant. if you are growing 15 small clones like that every go round then that's anywhere between 15oz - 45 oz per harvest. The SoG setup allows you to harvest anywhere between 2 to 3 weeks. If you are looking for weight and a constant supply of quality smoke then i would suggest the SoG. Sounds like a winner to me. Just my opinion. I've always grown from seed to smoke and never messed with clones and mothers until this grow. Just the thought of having 15oz every 2 to 3 weeks for myself sounds like heaven. I hope this helped you.

Peace and positive energy to you

Myself I harvest from 4-7.5 oz per plant under a 600hps and I only flower 4 at a time. I have always used the method of fimming from early veg up so I have anywhere from 10-27 tops (depends on strain) All of my bud from bottom to top is super coated and dank. I now am 4 toping then lsting. I have not went to flower yet so I have no idea how this will do compared to fim x3-4

Dude am I just really that high or does that not make sense?
Like how do you get 3 oz from a plant that has been cloned only 2-3 weeks before going 12/12 and to harvest every 2-3 weeks ? How do 15 2-3 week low veg small clones flower in 2-3 weeks?

Just askin, not beefin.

thats called a perpetual crop, its all in the timeing of when you rotate the plants through the cycle peace and grow on

oh, so each individual clone is still going through the full flowering period, you just rotate 1/3rd of the clones each 3 weeks by creating new ones to take the place of that third.... OH HELL YES... †LOL† will be trying that as soon as I have my ideal mother....or an ideal mother, though I've also been thinking about this grafting thing to make a mother with several strains (space a consideration) frankenmom....nnniiiicccceeee....I understand the concept and I remember my abuelo doint it with fruit trees...and it would just be a fun mad scientist experiment... †insert evil laugh here("*mUWahahahaA!!!*")†

I understand perpetual growing, but you can not clone a plant and set it to flower in 2 weeks and expected 2-3 oz from it.
I was putting 2 plants in 12/12 under a row of 1k hps every week and getting 4-7 oz per plant, but I clone many and veged hard then only took 2 and allowed the others more veg. It takes time to get to high yeilds.

Peace and RASTA

Thanks for the advice so far! Rep added :) I've been wanting to try the continuous flowering method. I'd love to try a SoG, I've got 6 big plants right now and 4 mediums, but I have yet to try really small plants.

So, I just wait till they are fairly root bound in pots (half gallon? one gallon? quart?) and start flowering?

Let me clarify myself. After the cutting has rooted which can take anywhere between 5days to 2 weeks depending on method and stain would be put into flower. The clones would receive the full flower cycle of 8 weeks just there would be a batch of 15 clones then two weeks later there would be another batch of 15 clones, then another etc...etc..So you would be harvesting more clones but they would be smaller plants. A perpetual grow of sorts....so of those eight weeks of flower you got a batch of 15 clones at a different stage of growth, 1 batch in the first 2 weeks, 1 batch in the 2nd 2 weeks, and finally a 3rd batch in the 3rd 2 weeks, and the 4th or oldest batch in the last 2 weeks of flower. I can be confusing at times so I apologize for that.

Peace and positive energy to you

hey guys i got a question for the sog growers regarding pot sizes and floor foot print i'm pretty determined that sog in soil will be my next adventure but i'm not sure about pot size i have a load of 3gal pots which seems to big and a waste of space and i also have 6inch square pots but they're only 6inches deep which i'm thinking will be to small so what to do?
should i look for deeper 6inch square pots buy 6inch square pipe and cut it down and make my own or??????
this puzzles me as i keep hearing root bound is bad but i can't see any way around it without going deep pots any help is greatly appreciated + rep w dragon
p.s sorry to ask in your thread mate but it seemed a good place to ask as it's on topic and i imagine any1 reading this that's unsure will prob have the same question

I use 4" pots.

no veg... clone straight to flower.
thanks for the answer mate + rep
do they yeild ok in pots that small i'm trying to improve yeild and get away from big plants as i find them a pain in the arse and i want my lights on 12/12 running perpetual for the next run i'll have 4x600w hps and want to make the most of them, thanks again mate good info is always greatly appreciated

I was gunna say the 6" are fine but it sounds like 4" works to.
thanks sixstring i got a little more homework ahead of me i want it all ready to go i imagined sog was the way to go when i first started but got caught off guard with how fast they grow and i ended up with 2ft bushes after 1 month that finished at 4ft, i'm doing the same this round but want to rectify it for the next run in about 10wks and little to no veg time would be ideal for me, thanks again mate +rep

Ebb and Flow always yields the most for me. Yields are strain-dependent but I'll easily get a pound per 600, with one of my strains pushing 22oz per 600hps. The table is only 2'x3' and I'll set it up with 6 plants in 6 inch rockwool cubes.

I run two local strains and am now also working with AK47, just for some variety. I'll know her results with this setup in about 2 months, but I anticipate her to yield between 16-20oz based on soil grows.
