yep, that would have been an awesome thing for the public to witness. it would without a doubt eliminate from the minds of most Americans that weed is in any way harmful to your body. (so far the ONLY thing I've read to be harmful in weed is the smoke, which isn't very harmful and is countered by the THC in the first place . . .)

Well, he got served a suspension and is losing his endorsements. He might as well have made it worthwhile by taking a stand. I understand why he did what he did, however it would have been a huge opportunity to show the world that our government is full of shit when it comes to cannabis.

1. he an athlete. the stereotype for athletes is bad enough.

2. we dont know if he is a pothead, we have no idea how much he smokes/smoked. you assume he is a pothead.

I dunno, I think this' all just been blown way out of proportion, so he was smoking something other than tobacco, 'oh noes hide the kids and ruin that mans reputation!' *sighs* it's such a sad state of affairs when the public deems it necessary to control a celebrities life like this. I wouldn't, nope, not for some plant but I would sacrifice ANYTHING for my Freedom to chose, freedom to live how I wanna live, the freedom to have privacy. I believe that Michael Phelps is the victim of a kind of public terrorism that has robed him of these simple freedoms. I guess the price of greatness can be unforgiving.

He should have said, "lets race to the other side of the pool, last one there doesn't smoke enough pot".
