Could you imagine what would of happened if he would of stood up for himself? It could of been the stand the marijuana world has been waiting for.

I agree Fdd, he did cower.

yep, that would have been an awesome thing for the public to witness. it would without a doubt eliminate from the minds of most Americans that weed is in any way harmful to your body. (so far the ONLY thing I've read to be harmful in weed is the smoke, which isn't very harmful and is countered by the THC in the first place . . .)

FDD, we dont want it legalized... remember
or its off to the homeless shelter
phelps speaking up would be a strong stand towards decriminalization if anything.

growing with it legalized wouldn't be nearly as bad as growing with it illegal in the first place though . . .

I guess you are still buying Kellogs products... learn to vote with your wallet...
+1 to that, money is the only language corporate america understands.

I don't think he's a pussy or what he did was wrong. I get why he did it, I'm just saying if he had taken a stand it would have made a difference.

people just listen to TV . . .

Well, he got served a suspension and is losing his endorsements. He might as well have made it worthwhile by taking a stand. I understand why he did what he did, however it would have been a huge opportunity to show the world that our government is full of shit when it comes to cannabis.

:peace:

"Go ahead and tear me down if you like. But let’s see you rationalize in your next lame ONDCP commercial how the greatest motherfucking swimmer the world has ever seen...is also a proud pot smoker."

instead he cowered. i said from day one he fucked up. should have stood right up and yelled it out loud. what a putz.
Dude, I agree, I said he could have been pots poster boy.

"pot makes you lazy and it kills brain cells"
"yeah, tell that to the Olympic Gold Medalist "

Of course, if down the line he ends up a meth head it's gonna come back to weed being the gateway drug....

I dunno, I think this' all just been blown way out of proportion, so he was smoking something other than tobacco, 'oh noes hide the kids and ruin that mans reputation!' *sighs* it's such a sad state of affairs when the public deems it necessary to control a celebrities life like this. Too many people have already made a big deal out of this and I'm afraid Mikes gonna have to walk on eggshells to maintain his current endorsements now, he can't be backing such a taboo ideology right now, who here can honestly say theyd be willing to lose Million dollar contracts for weed?

I wouldn't, nope, not for some plant but I would sacrifice ANYTHING for my Freedom to chose, freedom to live how I wanna live, the freedom to have privacy. I believe that Michael Phelps is the victim of a kind of public terrorism that has robed him of these simple freedoms. I guess the price of greatness can be unforgiving.

He should have said, "lets race to the other side of the pool, last one there doesn't smoke enough pot".

I wish he'd have defended himself, he could have been the pot champion of the world.

Here I was, ready to boycott Kelloggs for dropping him.............
