What plant has a similar growing process to weed?

was just wondering what plant has a similar growing process to weed so while im at the hydroponics store and i ask for suggestions on indoor growing setup or what not, then if they ask me what im growing i would have a quick legal answer and still get what i need to grow
 
though, if you're a member here, why trust the guy trying to hawk things to you. he's going to see right through your 'im growing hot peppers' line and direct you to his massive stock of 'canna' specific nutrients and regimens.
 
tomatoes.

the nutrient/temp/water requirements for tomatoes are nearly identical to cannabis.

Protip: youre not gonna be fooling anybody though. if youre doing hydroponics the cops will assume youre growing weed.
 
Hops or any semi hard wood annual ... but you shouldn't have to lie!!!! build some trust in your life
 
Where I go to buy stuff they will be forced to kick you out if you say weed just like they would in a head shop for calling a water pipe a bong...so just say crops and you will have an unspoken arrangement with the salesmen.
 
I went into a head shop once and gawked for hours at some beautiful glass while talking on and on about my home meth lab and not a single eyebrow raised. But the second I mentioned my buddy who grew weed at home did they flip out and ask me to leave. Just sayin.
 
Dr.J is 100% correct. Ask here, not there. And when you buy stuff in person, no explanation is necessary. This time of year is a good time for stocking up because ordinary gardeners are gearing up for spring. Hell, if push came to shove just say your wife/gf sent you after "all this crap".
 
A legit hydro store will not ask you. It's ok to be vague they aren't trying to investigate you. Although in east county San Diego I did know of a hydro store that was raided because the owner showed pics of his grow setup to an enthusiastic undercover DEA agent. I digress, "Tomatoes" is the universal verbage I would say.

If a store clerk actually asks what you are growing then never go there again. I had a guy ask me at a grow shop if I was growing the "good skunk", I told him he was retarded and had him fired by talking to the manager on the spot. The manager apologized to me, and I told her that people will stop coming to her store.

If you need something to say, then tell them you are growing hot peppers.
 
You might just want to get an idea of what you want before heading in there and then work from there. Type of lighting, your space and how you're going to be able to fill it. Have your basic list before you even head in there. In my experience grow shop guys come off like car dealers. They'll try to convince you that you need everything from evaporated whale semen to an industrial sized bottle of superthrive. They're there first and foremost to make a buck.
Going into a growshop is like going to Asian massage parlors. The clerks know what you're there for. So do the cops if they happen to drive by and spot your vehicle in the parking lot.
 
last year we went to a dollar store to buy bamboo sticks and while shopping a dude grabs a few sticks and a bamboo curtain and goes and pays.
While paying for mine the clerk says "I asked that last guy what he was using them for and he said for cooking, I said this are not eatable bamboo but he wouldn't listen to me"

Where can I purchase this evaporated whale semen you speak of? Will it increase resin production and yields exponentially? Does Advanced Nutrients make a bottle?

Dude. Evaporated whale semen is a gimmick. Got to Sea World and get it straight from the source.
