I really liked this one. Seems to be mostly about advanced and theoretical topics... at least to me. Some of you guys probably won't learn anything new. I can't imagine the root system in a forest with 1,000 year old trees 300 feet tall.

This is badass. Thanks for sharing mate.

Have you seen the Private Life Of Plants series with David Attenborough? If you like this you will like that series too. Never looked at plants the same way again.

Great video, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I suggest anyone that has a love for plants, our girls or any other plants watch this.

We did studies on this with fields of wheat and canola. Blight and midge is a big issue in Canada and what we noticed was when a crop was infested it was devastated on the east end of the field, as you moved westward the damage to the crop was less and less. It became this huge deal, we had everyone from everywhere looking into this phenom. Come to find out that plant roots communicate and were able to tell the rest of the field that trouble is coming and allowed the plants prepare for war...so to speak. Their is a lot more we need to research...that's for sure.

Looks like the video was deleted....

More people should take the time to watch and learn from it all . I just explained today to my little ones why there Morning Glory blooms were not open at noon :)
Next year I ll make sure to buy moon flower seeds for them .

Awesome video. If you enjoyed this, you would probably also like 'The Private Life of Plants' 1995. There was a documentary called 'The Secret Life of Plants' made in 1973, but I didn't find it as interesting.

Seconded! Most amazing series of doccies EVER. Of particular interest to me was the episode on plant companions, how plants develop a relationship with animals, and WHAT characteristic of that animal they focus on.
I found it very interesting to note that wheat chose humans as animal companion. And because of that, and human greed, wheat is now the single most successful organism on the planet. It has spread EVERYWHERE. For something that needs it's seed carried around, that is quite something.
Then, think about reefer. Also, seeds just won't spread without HUMANS carrying them around. Yet it is now also being taken care of very well, and has managed to spread EVERYWHERE. So, wheat chose human greed as the characteristic to base it's success on. Ganja, well, ganja recognised us as SPIRITUAL beings, and made us this wonderful chemical to help us on that quest, and as we have asked of her, given us more an more of that devine chemical, to a point that the plant will sacrifice it's ability to survive in the wild, simply to please us, so we carry on spreading the seeds.

How can you not love a plant that does THAT?!
