What should i use, 400w MH or 430w HPS? - both Phillips Son-Agro

Im in the middle of my 3rd week and i just got a phillips ceramalux Son Agro 430w HPS... im using a philips son agro 400w mh now, do you think i should use the 430 for the extra watts? hps run at higher temps, correct ( more lumens)? plus 30w's more would also cause more heat... like most my temps are already a lil difficult to keep low in a 4x4x6.5 tent. i have great air movement and my temps are at lid avg 80f, tent air temp about 75f and water temp is at 70f. but those temps are not easy for me to achieve. i know hps are a diff light spectrum and that mh are more blue which helps in root growth...i have digital ballast so no changes would be made in setup...i plan on changing to flowering in about 2 weeks maybe more, i dunno, does anyone have any opinions on this matter?

Well it really depends on what kind of growth your looking for.
The MH is great for making the bush. If you use it for flowering it helps reduce the amount of stretch.
And after the stretch throw in the 430 and check out the size of your buds. But thats just what i would do.

in my opinion id use the mh for but use the hps later yes that is my advice

sweet...some advice...well my thinking was use MH till 1 week into flowering then put in the HPS... only thing else which i was thinking was to put in the HPS now cuz of the 30w extra. but if you say that the MH would help keep it smaller and bushier then i will stick to my orig plan and throw in the HPS in bout 3 weeks from now/ 1 week into flowering...i figured 5-6 weeks of total veg then flower for a quicker not so stretched of a grow....thanx for the help in making my decision. ive never used MH before and this is only my 2nd grow....

i would actually running it until the stretch is almost over . So maybe 2 to 2.5 weeks would work. But once again just my opinion.

Bleedintears - what strain is that in your avatar..looks minty.... i was thinking the same 2 - 2.5 weeks maybe 3-3.5 if the smaller plants are still far behind...

That is actually my very first plant. Which I still have through the miracle of cloning.
It is Juicy fruit, A strain which was bred in my area, While it is in late flowering it has a very fruit stink. But after harvest it is actually minty, So good call on that one.
