What should my PH be in soil?? Newbie

I've just come across a chart in a thread on here that contradicts the way ive been feeding my plants, going off the intstructions on the bottle. I'm using ionics bloom & boost & it recomends a ph in the range of 5.5-6.2, but in this chart its saying the optimum ph for soil grows is 6.5... Does anyone have any advice on this or should i just stick to what im doing, it doesn't seem to have had any negative on the plants at all.

most nutes get absorbed best at a ph of 6.0 to 7.0,your nutes will also lower your ph.hydro ph should be lower.get a ph probe and test everytime you water and check your runoff.6.5 is good

Cheers Mr Grass, I have a ph stick & measured the run off last time, it was 6.4... How does that sound considering the ph going in was around 5.9??

Thanx for the replys, 6.5 all the way from now on!!
My first mistake discoverd & rectified thanx to RUI.
Thank god soil is a bit more forgiving!!

Ok, so i've fed my babies twice since I started doing the PH @ 6.5, they need feeding again tomorrow, so it seems to me they are taking up the water slightly quicker now, does this sound reasonable??
Also, as I mentioned i'm using Ionics boom & ionics boost, the recommened dosage, 7ml bloom per litre, 1ml boost per litre & im upto day18 12/12. This brings my EC upto 1.1, although the guidelines on the bottles say the EC should be 1.5 for soil.
So do I steadily up the EC until its at the recommended 1.5 or leave it how it is??

then why is your post "gone" if it was considered OK to use language like you do? It's very ignorant of you explaining yourself with "im speaking to my mate", you very well know you were wrong.

point made...see ya around!
