What should the water temp be?

I can't find anything about what the water temp should be for my mortgage lifter, DWC (I guess that's what you would call it)?? I also read somewhere that the water temp should be 5 degrees warmer than the air temp, but I don't know how to manage that. I have a heater inside the water and my air temp runs from 70-83 degrees most of the time.

Water temp in hydro applications should be no higher than 75f. 65f-70f is good.

68 degrees is ideal. Most dissolved oxygen in the water.

Great, thanks for the information. Unfortunately I wasn't sure and had a heater in my res, bringing the temp to around 80 deg. All is well now, with overnight success.

If you cant get your temps down add some peroxide to the res. That will help oxygenate the res and keep your plants healthy.

Actually the slime is algae and is caused by light penetrating the res not from high temps.
