What size duct fan for my room/ cfm?

Hey peps want to get some thing going.i am going with a room of 8x5x8 with 1 1000w m/h for veg. and 1 1000w hps and 1 400w hps for flower.rockwool and hydroton balls in 2 black 5 gl or 1 82litre contauner.1 60gal air pump with 2 6inch air stones.the strain is CANNALOUPE HAZE FEMINIZED.2 plants for the most would like to get 1lb per plant or very close to.my indoor temp is around 87 deg.f. what size 6inch duct fan would i need to keep the humidity and temps adequate?need some good advise before i order the fan.i live in the CARIBBEAN and do not have any access to any hydro stores so have to order.any advise welcomed and appreciated....:-?
 
That's a lot of heat and light for that small of an area, might want to get an AC unit to help control temp and hum.

Bouncer I have a 440 cfm Vortex fan that I use for an 8' x 3' flower cage and two 4' x 4' veg boxes. The fan draws air through my garden, from my 35' x 25' attic and vents it outdoors, the attic draws air from my living area.

If I were in your position I would go with ~600 cfm, or larger, and buy a Vortex. Since you have to mail order and money doesn't seem to be the most pressing issue get a high quality fan and not a discount.

This is my redirecting bucket. Air is drawn from the top of the grow cage, through the gray Vortex fan, into the blue container that houses a charcoal filter, and out the floor of my attic into my heating air ducts. The fan more than pays for itself: cool house in summer; warm in winter; summer - fresh air comes into the living area from out doors to replace warm air vented air; winter - warm O2 rich air from garden recirculated inhouse; co2 rich air is pulled from the living area up to the attic.

420 god and hobbes thanks for the reply.actually i am building a 8by5by8 in a normal 12x12x10 bedroom.do i put the a/c in the bedroom and then vent air in the 8x5x8 room?if so what size inlet fan do i get and shuold i still get a 600cfm vortex with speed controller?
 
If you have a window you can throw it in that would be the easiest then you can pull the fresh air from the room. Try and keep the temp close to 75 F.
 
hey will i still have to get a 600cfm vortex speed controlled fan if i put the A/C in the 12x12x10 and vent it to the grow room and if so wat size inlet fan i recommended?
 
420 god i am thinking of putting a 12000btu for the entire room and vent it to the grow room but need to know wat size inlet and exhaust fan to use..and the 5gal and 82litre containers will i be able to SCROG WITH THEM?
 
12,000 sounds good. Big enough to handle any amount of heat. I would always go a bit bigger on everything you need so you're not making everything work so hard. A lot of the stuff you put in that room is gonna be on 24/7. I would still go with a larger fan just in case you ever upgrade and add a few more plants to your grow area. 5 gallon bucket seems to be the norm for growing pots but I really can't help with too many details as I am an outdoor grower and still learning myself.

Even if you're not concerned about your electrical bill there are still the efficiency and effectiveness of the system to consider - I would vent the air from the garden outdoors because of the heat from the light. I would use a charcoal filter even through the air is going directly outdoors because smell is the second surest way to be caught growing. After telling people about your grow.

Most fans will be rated to a room size ... I would go with a 600+cfm Vortex, no speed controller needed, you want to have all of the cfm capacity that you need. I use only one fan to exhaust my grow cage, the rest of the air flow is passive.

Are you using a stationary light or a light mover? If you are going stationary you can use air cooled vents or cool tubes to draw most of the heat from the bulb out of your grow cage. If you are using a light mover you can flower with 25 watts per square foot if you low stress train. 1/2 the electricity, 1/2 the heat.

Yes, just anchor the stem to your containers so they don't turn when you LST.

using 1000w hps with reflector stationary and hanging the 400w at side or in middle.so u say vent the air out the room with a 600+cfm fan and will i need to put a fan for the fresh A/C AIR to enter the grow room if so wat size inlet fan.bear with the questions,its a lot to ship item to me,so need to get the right info b 4 purchasing.
 
sounds good twistedwords,but doesn't those window unit burn more elec. than the split units?ok what size inlet fan would i need if i am going to vent in the a/c air in the grow room if i use the 12000btu splt?
 
or and smell is not a concern so will not be using any filters.luv is in the air so will be the nice fresh aroma of SENSI.lol...

My system has no inlet fan, only a large black-out vent is needed. Passive air draw through the air floor of the cage, out the ceiling, out the building.

so all i need is the 600+cfm located to the top of the room and make a hole for fresh air to enter the room at the bottom of the room and the a/c air wiil enter?

More or less. There are always adjustments that need to be made but that will do. Starting out it might be best to order two fans if money isn't an issue - for possible failures (I've never heard of one) or extra capacity in the tropics.

Air in houses can have 2x the CO2 levels as out doors - if you go with twistedwords air conditioning idea draw the air from inside of the house to feed your grow room, not out doors.

It's important to use all ambient resources for max yield and potency.
