I thought he meant 8 x4 for some reason. I also put cat food in the coffee pot this morning. WOW. Lol, try a 600 if yu can cool it. Just pump that air right out. Or maybe a 400 is better.

The one knock that I used to read about the digi ballasts is that some people said they break down on them a lot, and that they'll only take certain types of bulbs. Have some/most of these issues been resolved now, or are these things still hapenning?

resolved. no interference, no breakdown and whatever bulb I stick in. That is my experience with 2 purple lumateks a 400 and a 600 that I run full time interchangably. Plus the come in a real pro box. Lol, WARRANTY too.

I thought you guys were fucking insane when you were saying two 600's! It is litterally like 32 inch by 40 inch closet! It is more like 7 sq feet, with a four inch cold air in, average 20 degrees outside air (winter...only time it will be running) and two four inch outs that all kick on with a cooling themostat......so do you think one 400 watt would be enough, I would only want to grow four girls, and start to flower them at 12 inches tall. Thanks for all the input fellas....here is my closet......so if a 400.....what unit and from where, I have to get this som-bitch for my next run that starts in two weeks! Thanks again

Three six hundreds, you might as well have the sun in your space. I would go with a six hundred if you can get rid of the heat, otherwise a four hundred. As stated, six hundred watt lights are the most efficient watt for watt.

I bought a 600w ballast, hood, and digi ballast off ebay for 350. I didn't think it was a bad deal. I think it was MGS Supply. I am growing in a 4x2 grow tent.

Good luck...

I went with a 400, that is 55,000 lumens.....seems like plenty, temps have been pretty steady at 78 dgerees....

Good choice I think. I'm in 5.5 sq/ft. First grow was with a 250w Lumatek and I finished with 5.75oz with three plants (.65g per watt). I've since upgraded to a dual 250w (two lamps in one air-cooled hood) setup in the same space.
