what size pots to use?

I am from the Carolina's as well and I am definatly going to use the ammonia trick just because you know what works around here. Also when does the budding/flowering season start around this area, and I've heard from a couple local growers to harvest after the first frost comes, how true is this statement? Thank you very much for your help Grumpy and thank you everyone else you are helping me so much through my first real grow!

As you know our weather is all wacky with no set seasons. I didn't even have mine finished before frost last year. I had to cover them a few times so I wouldn't have to bring inside. Last year I had some start flowering in mid August and a few in September. Generally it's day length unless your in thicker wooded areas. The ammonia trick is something I learned when I lived up north but have yet to have to do it here as my property is fenced in. I would assume they will react the same way to it though. Just make sure it's far enough away to not get run into yur grow with flowing rain water.

Never had that problem myself ph isn't usually a huge issue when using soil. But if you're worried about ph a little lime will fix that.

opposite problem...the dirt there is too alkaline was what he stated

Must have over looked that part my apolozies. I still say ph isn't much of an issue using soil tho. Just mix up your soil to where you want it and dig a 15 gallon hole and I doubt he will have any issues.
